But Will it include the Old Fashioned Video opening that shows how Pro Wrestling evolved from Roman times to MSG...with clips of thesz and Hogan and alot of others

*marks out at thought of hearing that music*

The WWE set for Flair came out months before the Hogan problems with Marvel. I didn't noticed the "WWF" comment though. I noticed on the Undertaker: He Buries Them Alive, however, several "WWF" comments are cut out quite obviously.

yeah I realise that, I was saying they showed footage from the 92 Rumble on Byte This last week but didnt edit the "Hulkster" comment, but then again didn't Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler say just "Hulkster" during the Eugene match at New Years Revolution? mayeb they can use the term "Hulkster" and just not "Hulk Hogan"

"Hulk Hogan, Hulkamania, and Hulkster are Trademarks of Marvel Entertainment Group Inc. licensed exclusively to Titan Sports Inc."

No, they aren't allowed to, but it's probably just hard to not say the words. Remember, Jim Ross constantly said "WWF" when the WWE name came about.

when? I only remember Lawler goofing up during the Angle/Edge hair vs. hair match and saying WWF. I don't recall anyone else doing it, especially JR

EDIT - I remember Hogan doing it one time as well, but that was on a Smackdown and they didnt even edit it out... and actually I do remember JR saying it one time but he didnt say it by accident or anything, he said "for the Then WWF Title" (I think he was talking about Shawn vs Bret at WM12?)

I remember Austin saying WWF when he returned as well as HBK saying it and then the next time making a big deal out of saying "WW EEEEEEEEEEE". JR and King slipped as well as a few others. They actually beeped Bobby Heenan saying it on the Hall of Fame DVD and then he went into a pretty funny rant about how many animals the WWF had and that the commentators were a weasel and a gorrilla.

Can someone fil me in on how Vince let the trademark slip? I somehow managed to miss that story.

Everyone did it the first few weeks of the change, Jim Ross even wore a WWF SWEATER! I know thats really lame, but wouldn't he know it's not WWF?

I counted 8 Good-great matches on that set list that i know i've seen and i haven't seen ALL those matches so if I neglected a goody, lemme know

12/14/86 Hulk Hogan vs. Paul Orndorff (steel cage match)

03/07/88 Randy Savage vs. Ted DiBiase

06/25/86 Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage

03/18/89 Hulk Hogan vs. Big Bossman (steel cage match)

02/16/89 Hulk Hogan vs. Badnews Brown

10/10/89 Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage

04/01/90 Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior (Warrior wins WWF World Title)

04/13/90 Hulk Hogan vs. Stan Hansen

in addition to about 2-3 more rather significant and historic matches (WM3, Andre title switch, first title win etc)

and it's shocked with nostalgic goodness.

im going to get this. I'll need to see the Box first though. I wonder if it'll be a Six single discs Box set or one of those nifty packages where they go in one whole box. I'm pretty sure it's the former.

The match against David Schultz is good, not great too.

And if it has the match against Harley Race on it that one rules too.

I wonder if this DVD set will be as great as the History of WWE Championship and Bret Hart Ultimate Collection sets

Heh, my thoughts exactly . . . . it may be that WWE planned this set before the Marvel agreement expired, and that Vince will just say "screw it, we'll call him Hollywood Hogan from now on" - meaning, more editing and fewer comprehensive releases because of the trouble in getting them ready and "lawsuit-free". And, meaning that the six-disc set has already been scrapped.

You know what sucks about the whole thing? We've finally got one person in control of pretty much all the "major-league" wrestling footage, and I think he actually knows what to do with it (all the previous DVD releases at least indicate that he'll give us what we want eventually) - but, it seems like with every passing month, there's something else that has to be edited out of the footage, it's pretty soon gonna be too annoying to watch, with splotchy audio and blurred spots. It'll be like watching scrambled porn.

I guess my videotaping and copying in the 80's has its advantages. I wish Vince would release stuff like the Rockers winning the wwf tag titles from Hart Foundation on snme. I actually hate seeing the wwf of old referred to as wwe. It just doesn't sound right.

WWE calling thmselves WWF = Hello lawsuit! WWE broke an agreement about the use of their name, and had to pay for it.

I'm sure if Vince tried hard enough, he could've greased the WWF's palms into letting themselves still be WWF, but obviously it wasn't that big of a deal.
