Ted the Poster Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 I also find it ironic that on a day celebrating a black leader, people don't have to work... I don't find it any weirder than getting off work for LABOR DAY. It was a play on stereotypes, and... fuck, nevermind.

Edwin MacPhisto Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 20 inch spinners! they spinnin nigga they spinnin! I spat water everywhere when I read this. Here in Virginia, it's not just MLK Day - it's Lee Jackson King Day! That's Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, by the way, for those of you who may have been giving the Commonwealth the benefit of the doubt.

It was King-Lee day in my younger days. There was something disturbing about that.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Well the better half's birthday is on the day MLK was born (1/15), and mine is on the day he died (4/4). Go figure that one out...
Dandy Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 My roommate said that they handled it this way at his work: If you are black, you can miss work without it counting against you. Tell me that ain't fucked up.

Guest HungryJack Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Robert E Lee was pretty cool. An admirable guy , I think. other than fighting for the rebs, but he wasn't pro-slavery.
