6 man tag last night on RAW

After Raw went off the air last night, there was a "dark" 6 man tag that was lots of fun. It was HHH, Batista, Edge vs. Benoit, Jericho and Orton. It SHOULD have been advertised, shown on TV and been the main event. The crowd was HOT last night, I was at Hogan-Rock, and it was almost as great in terms of heat. We were into it last night. And I got on TV! Not sure if anyone pointed out this match. There were some great crowd chants, the best of which was

"Maven Swallows!" -not sure if this one was audible on tv though.

Ah, but notice how I said "almost"! The crowd was really into it, maybe not Hogan-Rock levels, but pretty good for a normal Raw. Orton got HUGE pops, and HBK was practically booed out of the building. I never realized how over Batista was until yesterday night. Holy shit. There were many other good chants - eg. During Jericho-Benoit, a "Lets Go Chris" chant broke out (I guess that covered both bases!).

At first, I thought you were referring to that awful throwaway 6-man tag match with Shelton Benjamin, Hurricane and Rosey vs. La Res and Maven. I didn't even watch that match.

Batista is getting over almost every week now. There are rumors that it's proceeding a singles push for him outside of Evolution; or at least no longer being with HHH.

I personally, would love to see Batista go one-on-one with HHH for the World Title and win at WMXXI. Of course, knowing HHH and his political games, it won't happen.

The 6-man wasn't 'great'. It was a fun match with really good comedy. Edge's selling of Benoit's chops was gold.

I loved being apart of the hot crowd last night- they were on fire for everything and it created a fun atmosphere.

Batista got a MASSIVE pop when he came out

My RAW story...

On my way to the ACC, my friend returned a couple of tapes and dvds (including Vengeance 01 dvd...more on this later). The actual show was pretty fun. Lots of beers, some fun chants, the WAVE. But the real fun started after the show.

A good friend of mine owns a nightclub, which was opened last night for a private party...hosted by none other than Y2J. Got to meet Orton, Edge, Maven, Coach and Todd Grisham. All of them were pretty cool, Randy Orton especially seemed like a good guy.

So I go back to my car and bring something back to the club...and I leave with a Y2J signed copy of Vengeance 01 <Jericho wins Undisputed title>. Goodtimes. And the next time WWE is in Toronto, I 'm getting comped.

All in all, a good night.

Batista was fabulous in the 6 man. He over-sold everything. Actually, all the heels did with Edge doing the freeze and HHH doing the ridiculous Street Fighter daze spot. They did some really fun stuff and it's cool hearing a crowd laugh at a wrestling event. They need more comedy matches like that on the regular cards to give the shows more variety. JR and the King were watching it from the announce position, I dunno if that was just to watch the match or actually do commentary because they still filmed it... maybe a DVD is coming out with Unseen matches?

Edge's chop freeze was the spot of the night.

It was fun seeing a formula tag match and having Jericho and Orton encourage everyone to clap and do their spots.

HBK running in, superkicking Edge and then immediately getting layed out by Batista was funny stuff

Grisham seemed a little out of place...no one was talking to him, really. I was biting my tongue about the Benoit dvd fiasco...it was neither the time nor the place.

Damnit stylz, no guts no glory. Should have just made some small talk then said "So, what do you think of JEW-SHIN Lyger?" Maybe he would have slipped up and admitted he was told to say it, or he really should be fired.

Its nice to know they air crap and then put the good matches on when the program is over.

The Comedy of the match was really great. They need to do stuff like this more often, and on tv/ppv's too.

they did the same match last week at Raw and basically it was funny as hell, better than anything from the actual show. From the sound of it they might have done the same spots, they had the crowd laughing hysterically esp when all three heels had their trunks pulled down. Batista was laughing throught the whole match he looked like he was having a blast.

HHH has that Street Fighter dizzy spot mastered. I was at a house show, where he lept off the top rope  , and landed chin-first on Benoit's foot. He just stood there, looking at the ceiling for what seemed like an eternity. The ref went over and started snapping his fingers in his face, and waved his hand in front of his face. HHH just stood there looking at the ceiling. Finally DAVE started yelling at HHH, asking if he was ok. He came out of it and waved off Dave and said "Im fine", then he took 2 steps forward and fell flat on his face. This got one of the loudest pops of the night, and a good ovation from the crowd. Definitely one of the funniest things I've ever seen at a WWE show.
