PWI must be retarded. Monty Brown was wrestling in 2002. How the heck does that qualify as "Rookie"?

Other one I disagree with strongly is Comeback. EDGE?! How bout William Regal, who fought off a deadly disease after about 16 months? I think coming back from near death is more important than getting neck surgery.

Did the common fan know about that? Edge's neck surgery was pretty well known compared to Regal's disease.

Didn't they do a Confidential profile or something on Regal? I think Regals comeback was much more important, but I guess it's me not liking Edge much that's the major factor.

Edit: I forgot, PWI is "Kayfabe Mark" magazine. Silly me...

It's be so much more awesome if things outside of WWE got more hype. Those awards would have been totally different

That's what the Observer is for.

Benoit didn't just kick ass, he slaughtered, devoured, and excreted the competition for Wrestler of the Year.

I got the awards issue of PWI on sat (jan 29) wtf the cover price was 8.95? rite-aid only charged me 7.95 though (big whoop) Havent bought a PWI mag in nearly three years. Theyre not all kayfabe anymore, in fact they mostly are smarkish, except for the "fan comments" on the awards and how edges lead in the comeback category dwindled after he turned heel . (then again maybe alot of marks still read pwi and vote) I havent been able to get the almanac since 1997 so I hope this year I can find it ...geez.

also got the best of 2004 wwe mag. alot of pics and results and photos from every wwe ppv of 04

Benoit won Raw superstar of the year and JBL won sds (huh?)

Well, he did hold the belt for half the year.

As far as the almanac, it's pretty much hit or miss here where I live. I have the last three versions, the previous two never made the shelves, and I owned the two before those.

Congrats to D Ray for getting a mention in rookie of the year, he's just as boring as he was in 2000. Maybe give his fro a ROTY mention, but he's been stinking up the bottom of indy cards for a while now.

It's PWI... they gave the ROTY award to a 2-3 year pro, when I thought Rookie meant first year. I already have the 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 versions. Unless I have an extra $8, I think I'll pass on this years.
