Chazz 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 After months of building Raw G.M. Eric Bishoff's character from heel to tweener, The WWE apparently felt that was enough and switched him back to the lame Heel G.M. again. Why? Maybe It's just me, but I feel a Babyface or Tweener G.M. makes the show easier to watch than a Heel one. Smackdown! may not always be on the mark every week, but I've enjoyed The show so much more since Teddy Long took over as S.D. G.M. from Kurt Angle. I just think The Heel G.M./Authority Figure Is a tired Pro Wrestling plot device that has been done to death for The past 5 + years. Anybody else agree/disagree? NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 The problem is, Triple H is basically already the GM, by interrupting whenever he wants, basically having a promo every other segment in the show, and dictating the night's more important events almost every week. This almost requires Bischoff to be a face or at least NEUTRAL, for Raw to flow smoothly.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Unless I missed a segment, the reason he acted that way was due to the fact that he gave Coach the Rumble spot -- through everything, Coach has been his right-hand man, so it would make sense for Bischoff to support him, regardless of his affiliation. EDIT: He also rejected La Resistance's request to enter the Rumble.

Unless their going for a Multiple Personality Disorder with Bishoff's Character, tonight's back to Heel Mode without any explanation makes no sense. Then again, when has that ever stopped them? I thought it was great when Bischoff actually, you know, STOOD UP TO HHH for once. It was the most fire his character has shown since the heyday of the nWo. Eclipse 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Lately, we have been seeing less and less of Bischoff on TV, he only appears only on crucial points of the show. Hell, Teddy Long is on TV more, and actually does business just like a GM should.
Jingus 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 The character of the GM/commissioner/CEO/owner/whatever is painfully overused, whether babyface or heel, and should really be retired now. Also, no matter what the WWE does with him in their storylines, Bischoff can never be a babyface. Hell, the WWE's own line of historical DVDs all preach about what an evil bastard he was/is. Guest JRE Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Coach did a favor for Bischoff last night...can't remember what it was though. And he denied Regal 'cause of the Eugene thing. He probably wanted Tajiri out of the Rumble 'cause of....green mist a long time ago. Hey, it's continuity. He just likes and dislikes certain people.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 But, deep down, can anyone truly hate Bischoff? He's like Baltar on "Battlestar Galactica" or Dr. Smith on "Lost in Space". He's so slimey, he's cool, and you can't help but like him.
Chazz 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 I just think his Heel G.M./Authority Figure Act has more than run It's course over the last 2 1/2 years as Raw G.M. I think he would be much better used as a Manager (Ala Paul Heyman), or a Creative Consultant or Writer for The Raw Brand like he was during his WCW days. He couldn't do any worse than Steph and Co. Worst. Idea. Ever. edit: Okay, maybe not the WORST idea ever, but certainly a very, very bad one. Edited January 26, 2005 by Y2Jerk
