Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 30, 2005 So she doesn't like music? or just bad music?
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Just bad. From her meager music collection, she appears to only like one band I do (Interpol, wouldn't ya know). She's 19, almost 20, but I don't think she's really been following music for very long. Oh, she likes Blondie a whole lot, too, which is "cool," I guess, but honestly, what do I care about Blondie. Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Blondie is alright.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Blondie's okay, sure, but I don't care about them, is all.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Yesterday, she told me that were I to meet her dad, I'd have to lie about my age, as he wouldn't approve of her dating someone six years her senior. She proceeded to make a number of old man jokes I'm sure Rigel would find hilarious.

Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 I don't know why somebody's age would come up when you were meeting somebody's parents. It's never happened to me and I look 4 or 5 years older than I actually am. JAxl's going to be thrilled with this thread when he returns.

Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 I just saw on tv that they're doing a new Kojak with Ving Rhames. I like Ving Rhames, and I don't mind them changing a classic character's race as much as some people, but nobody else can be Kojak. Fuck that.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Oh, I forgot to say what I did today. I went to a toy expo, and some of the kids from Harry Potter were supposed to be there but they cancelled. I was upset. In the midst of this I wander outside to smoke and who's there but the Maniac Cop. I had my own cigarettes, but I took one of his just to say I did. We talked about drugs and he told me that when he was an actual cop they used to split up the drug busts among themselves. Dude is weirder looking in person than he is in the movies. Smoking and swapping drug stories with this guy: is nearly as good as JAxl getting drunk and making a fool of himself.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Me, smoking on my patio, roughly 15 minutes ago. It's raining, I'm three beers in and listening to Leonard Cohen.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Was. No longer. I shared my pain with Edwin earlier, however. I'm glad everything is okay. I remember a time when you listened to a lot of Miles Davis? Does that occur anymore?
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Not really, sadly. I listened to Bitches Brew the other week, though.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Not really, sadly. I listened to Bitches Brew the other week, though. In all of my hipsterdom and experiences with new bands, good old Miles has always been there for me. I think its unfair how you're mistreating the poor man. And as wonderful as Bitches Brew, you're missing so much. Especially on a melancholy Saturday evening smoking in the rain. Sorcerer would be an apt soundtrack for such an occasion. Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 I'll get back into Miles, no doubt. Still, Leonard Cohen perfectly fit my mood earlier.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Miles Davis's second great quartet is the best. all around best musicianship he's ever had. they are all so tight and they play so fucking hard. tremendous.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 I have E.S.P., though I never gave it the attention it deserves. I might put it on after I'm done with the Cars.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 30, 2005 I have all of the second quartet's actual albums except E.S.P and Miles in the Sky. Maybe I'll have to pikc it up.
