spman 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 WWE.com mentions that they'll be announced tomorrow. Any chance Vince will induct Earthquake so that he can make one last appearence?
GreatWhiteNope 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I'll guess Hogan (Mania's in LA after all), Bob Backlund, Gordon Solie, Paul Orndorf and "Cowboy" Bob Orton. Add Bruno Sammartino to that list depending on how well he's getting along with Vince these days.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 Hogan is a virtual lock at this point.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted February 3, 2005 Hulk Hogan(Inducted by Jimmy Hart or Ed Leslie) Ricky Steamboat (inducted by Ric Flair) Ted Dibiase (inducted by...someone) Bob Orton (Inducted by Randy Orton) John Tenta (Inducted by Fred Ottoman aka Typhoon) Curt Hening (inducted by Larry(?) Hening)-This year's Posthumous inductee. Paul Orndorff (inducted by someone...) those are my top candidates. I believe there is another thread here where I gave a longer and more detailed list. Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I'd like to see: Hulk Hogan Ricky Steamboat The Iron Shiek Roddy Piper Ted Dibiase Rick Rude Curt Hennig Jake Roberts Rick Martel Cowboy Bob Orton Koko B. Ware Rick Martel? Life long mid-carder. Too many better options before he should get there. Try again in 20011. Roddy Piper? Not after the last stint and not going to share the limelight with Hogan. Koko B. Ware? A low card comedy act? WTF? Jake Roberts? Not a chance. They can't risk the fact he may or may not be in prison by March(if he's not currently) or that he would be clean and sober enough to properly attend the function. Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted February 3, 2005 Bob Uecker better get in or else someone is going to die. He deserves it, if they are honestly going to continue with the "Celebrity Wing" shit. Uecker, Trump, and Mike Tyson are the three big celebs who honestly meant something to WM as celebs other then Rose whom was inducted last year.

I hope to hell he does. How long does Tenta have anyway? He still gives semi-regular updates on the Wrestlecrap message board. According to his update around last August he was given 15-18 months, and subsequent updates haven't been much better He deserves it, if they are honestly going to continue with the "Celebrity Wing" shit. iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I think it's safe to say that Hogan and Solie are the two definites. The rest we can just speculate. Steamboat is very likely. They need to get Bruno and Bret in there, however.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I'm not sure If I even want to see him in his current condition. Would he go for it? Being exploited for it? I'd imagine knowing John; he'd ask Vince to donate $$$ to his charity(im sure he has one) or to a charity related to finding the cure of his Illness.

He slipped my mind. Actually; Since Orton and Hogan are likely getting inducted, might as well throw in Orndorff AND Mr. T and just re-do the WM1 Main event minus Piper. They need to get Bruno and Bret in there, however. Hopefully, if the WM 22 rumours are true Vince will induct him next year along with Stu Hart(is he in there I can't remember). The city and crowd will be crazy for the event(Benoit maybe should have won his title there*jumping the gun I know as if the rumours true*
iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 And if he did ask Vince, I'm sure he would be more than happy to help out Tenta. And I say that with all honesty and truthfulness to the McMahons.
Promoter 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I was thinking the same thing. Vince might be thinking this is the best way to apologize to Bret. Either induct him in Montreal or Calgary.
Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I hope they don't become more strict with time restraints due to how long last year's went. The best part for me was being able to listen to all their memories, and you can't squeeze that all into a five minute speech.
spman 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 Why not just induct all the Hart Foundation, Bret, Owen, Neidhart, Bulldog, and Pillman
Promoter 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I suppose Hogan being inducted is most likely. He deserves it obviously. It should be a former heavyweight champ(Hogan), former IC champ (Steamboat), former tag team champ, and former US champion and former women's champ I guess to round it all out. There is no way Hogan and Bruno are going to both be in a ceremony. It's like saying Savage will be inducted the same night.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I have a feeling Bret would want complete attention to himself and not let owen and davey get lost in the "background" so to speak due to his first wwe appearence since 1997. Meaning he doesn't want to have people go "Oh yeah, Davey got in too". He'd want them to get their own proper reconigztion.

I could see him rather inducting Owen and Stu instead of himself. I've never met my hero (Bret), but I think I know him enough to honestly say... ...if you asked him if he could get in, or Stu/Owen...he'd say Stu/Owen in a second. Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I wonder if there is an Official Committe for this such as Vince, Cornette, Patterson, Ross and Brisco. Or is it just Vince going "Okay. Who hasn't burnt his bridges here and did something good for me in the past or has a good story and won't ask for a outrageous price or make an ass out of himself?" Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted February 3, 2005 The really exciting thing is the prospect of the DVD. I'd have two matches and a promo/interview of them for each person for the wrestlers and for the non-wrestlers, footage of why they were "influential" such as Pete Rose's appearences. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 Is their a list of finalists, or do they kind of randomly choice a group of people?
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted February 3, 2005 There was a list on WWE.COM for the fans. I'm thinking they used the top percentages to get an idea of who they will use. Im sure some of it will be based on Politics. Mostly serious but a couple comedy guys like Kamala.

It's all about how the company can profit from repackaging the old footage they have in the vault.
