Guest ArchoanJB Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Since no one's posted this I thought I'd go aheand and pass along the card. ***IWA World Heavyweight Title Match*** [Champion] CM PUNK vs. DANNY DANIELS ***IWA Light Heavyweight Title/Steel Cage Match*** [Champion] DELIRIOUS vs. JIMMY JACOBS ***Strong Style Showdown*** SAMOA JOE vs. BRAD BRADLEY ***First Round Tournament Match*** ALEX SHELLEY vs. PETEY WILLIAMS ***First Round Tournament Match*** JOSH ABERCROMBIE vs. IAN ROTTEN ***First Round Tournament Match*** MATT SYDAL vs. BRANDON THOMASELLI ***First Round Tournament Match*** TRIK DAVIS vs. ERIC PRIEST Looks like an amazing Highland level or above card. Shelley vs. Petey, Sydal vs. Thomsalli, Punk vs. Daniels, Delerious vs. Jacobs should all be very good or better. Samoa Joe vs. Brad Bradley could make Bradley a star in IWA like it did with Roderick Strong. Hopefully they manage to put something good togehter. I'll be there, hopefully they draw above a 100 (its about 20 minuts away from Highland so I'd think they would).
PsychoDriver Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Good card. I've been waiting to see Joe Vs. Bradley for a while now. That should be an interesting one. Sydal Vs. Brandon, Shelley Vs. Williams, The cage match all look like alot of fun as well.
Cuban Linx Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Looks like quite a good card, hopefully more than 20 people are there live to see it. Being what looks like the blowoff to their feud i expect good things from Jacobs/Delirious, provided it doesn't get into the messy non-finishes their last few matches have had. And IWA are certainly getting their money's worth out of their Cage, seemingly every second or third show has a Cage match these days.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I wonder who is going over. Sydal or Brandon.
JoeDirt Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I'm loving this. Since Sydal was a late tournament addition, I have to think Thomaselli is winning this thing. Should be a great show.
Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Looks like a very good card, anyone else think Daniels might go over Punk for the title? Also, Delirious/Jacobs is kind of confusing to me, who is supposed to be the heel?
King Cucaracha Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Looks like a very good card, anyone else think Daniels might go over Punk for the title? Also, Delirious/Jacobs is kind of confusing to me, who is supposed to be the heel? I call Daniels going over too. C'MON BABY!! Also, technically, I think Jacobs is in transition. The match he had with Claudio in Highland's a good example. He didn't really play the heel during the match, but then he got into it with that fan post match. So, I don't think Jacobs has fully turned yet. Anyway, looks a good card. Hopefully the turnout is too. Is Priest a regular now? He looked good last time I saw him and he's got a good gimmick
Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I'm not really a fan of Priest, he's not bad, but there's something that I just don't like about him. I don't think he's going far in the tournament anyway though, i'll be shocked if Trik doesn't make it to the semi finals at the least.
JoeDirt Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Quick results from the IWA board: Trik Davis d. Eric Priest Ian d. Abercrombie Shelley d. Williams Thomaselli d. Sydal Delirious d. Jacobs Joe d. Bradley Trik d. Ian Thomaselli d. Shelley Daniels d. Punk to win the IWA-MS world title Thomaselli d. Trik
Guest ArchoanJB Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 More Detailed results from me Amazing show top to bottom. There wasn't a bad match as they didn't have a bunch of random undercard matches due the tourney. I just left the show 10 minutes ago (god the fog is HORRIBLE up here in Valpo). There was around 100 or so people, not bad but not good. Well here are the results Round 1] Trik Davis d. The Underwear Model Eric Priest Priest is a fun heel, and Trik is an awesome face so this match gelled well together. Got the crowd into it. Priest is fun when he tries to do moves way out his league and botches them on purpose. Trik won in about 8-10 minutes after backfired interference from Jim Fannin and Chandler. Round 1] Ian Rotten d. Josh Abercrombie Josh got destroyed in this stiff nasty match. Really fun with Josh taking some really sick shots. Josh gave it to Ian pretty well as well. The barbwire match should be fun. Round 1] Alex Shelley d. Petey Williams Really fun match with them having a match showing respect for each other. Then after 5-10 minutes it starts to break down when Petey grabs the ropes while he had Shelley in the sharpshooter. They then went at it full tilt until Shelley hit the shellshock in about 15 minutes for the win. They then make up afterwards of course. Round 1] Brandom Thomaselli d. Matt Sydal This was the longest of the 1st round matches that went around 20-25 minutes. Really fun match, especially towards the end. Sydal just destroys the knee, which will come into play all night. Cage Match- Delerious d. Jimmy Jacobs to retain the IWA Light Heavyweight Title Some crazy stuff in this match. It starts out like a normal cage match with them slowly introducing the cage into the match. The whole time Jimmy is slowly turning into a heel, yelling " I"M A BAAABBBBYFACCEEE" all during the match. They both ended up on top the cage fighting, and they both fall to the floor (not Jack Evans falling to the floor though, thank god). They then fight on the outside plowing through chairs (and random girl). Jimmy grabs a table and tosses it in the ring. They both get back into the ring and tease the table spot for a few minutes. They kick it up a bit trying to get the win during this portion. Finally Delerious is on the table and Jimmy climbs to the top of the cage and jumps off, but Delerious moves and Jimmy crashes back first into the table from the top of the cage, pretty nasty looking. Delerious then climbs to the top of the cage and hits hte SHADOWS OVER HELL OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE onto Jacobs. That gets the pin. Now here where things get all screwed up. Jimmy tells someone to go get Ian as he screams in pain. They hurriedly get the cage down but Jacobs is just yelling like a madman, he finally tells Ian to get the fuck off of him when Ian tries to help him. Jacobs then starts saying "Well this'll fucking sell tapes" Ian leaves the ring and Jacbos just lays in the ring pretty motionless scraming for 5 minutes. Jacobs is really moving along well as the heel who thinks he doesn't get his right respect. Samoa Joe d. Brad Bradley Man, Joe is just amazing at putting people over. Him and Brad just went out it for 15 minutes. The first couple minutes was matwork and then they just laid into each other. Sick match that will put Bradley on the map I think. Round 2] Trik Davis d. Ian Rotten I thought Ian beat the hell out of Josh Abercrombie, Ian just destoryed Trik. Just nonstop punishment on Trik, leaving all kinds of bumps and bruises. Some hits were just as hard as Joe vs. Bradley. Trik won with a top rope sunset flip in about 12 minutes or so. Round 2] Brandon Thomaselli d. Alex Shelley Pretty nice technical match that went about 15 minutes. Shelley works on the injured knee of Thomaselli. The crowd was pretty worn out by this point after the last 3 matches, as was I. Danny Daniels d. CM Punk to become the new IWA Heavyweight Champion. Surprise of the night as after about 25 minutes of action, Daniels rolled up Punk for the 3. The first 10 minutes or so was them working on the mat, feeling each other out. After that they turned it up and it got really good. An amazing match that included a top rope rolling firemans carry onto Daniels. Finals of the IWA Indiana State Title Tourney: Brandon Thomaselli d. Trik Davis Another fun match, but doesn't compared to some of the earlier matches by both men even. Trik refused to work the leg and be heelish, instead working on the arm. Thomaselli ended up winning after a air raid crash in about 13-15 minutes. Crowd was really lively for most of the night. One of the better IWA shows I've been too, prob. only topped by TPI nights. Everyone worked extremly hard. Everyone needs to buy this tape.
Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Sounds like an awesome show from top to bottom from IWA MS. I reckon it'll be worth getting just for the cage match.
Cuban Linx Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Sounds like a really good show, adding another to the growing list of IWA shows i need to catch up on. Jimmy Jacobs and Brandon Thomaselli have really stepped it up over the last few months, i really like the building Jacobs heel turn they've been doing and if those match times are correct Thomaselli wrestled about 55 minutes over the night.
King Cucaracha Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Daniels as World Champ makes me smile. And at least they got a decentish crowd. Looks like another video on the list.
