And there is zero defense, whatsoever, for the Dems not doing anything.

Fair 'nuff. As I told Marney around a year ago, both parties have their crosses to bear, and some of them just happen to be on fire.

Feel free to note somebody I "turned on" when they didn't go along with my views.

I also note that you seem to have no problem with Byrd who was a recruiter for the KKK, while having considerable issue with Thurmond or Zell.

Actually, I've bitched about Byrd a few times. I know the guy's a closet racist, just like David Duke and, IMHO, Strom and Zell. The last two are simply my own personal opinion formed by my observations of racist older people within my own family.

And this is proof of him putting his followers in important positions in his paper how?
Can you prove otherwise? Makes sense, if this person is one of his earliest followers, he'd have known about them early on well before the paper. I just can't ignore the blatantly obvious.

Or are you attempting to claim that Bush is in bed with Rev. Moon?

Not at all. I'm pointing out the absurdity that the President believes the liberal media myth (which is easily proven by a number of situations: Cheney called the Post "not a friendly paper," Bush carried Bernie Goldberg's book to his flight shortly after it was published, and more I've seen but don't remember) and yet does not have a problem sitting down for an interview with a paper whose owner has been quoted as saying it promotes the Republican Party.

I mean, Fox News at least gets credit for Murdoch and Ailes at all times insisting it's unbiased and impartial.

Can you prove even the tiniest sliver of this?

You can prove that he had access to the name of an outed CIA agent that the WH political machine wouldn't have access to.

In an Oct. 2003 interview w/ Amb. Joseph Wilson (Plame's husband), Gannon asked the following question:

An internal government memo prepared by U.S. intelligence personnel details a meeting in early 2002 where your wife, a member of the agency for clandestine service working on Iraqi weapons issues, suggested that you could be sent to investigate the reports. Do you dispute that?

The Washington Post has stated that no other new outlets had access to the memo in question at the time of the interview. Gannon was subpoenaed by a federal grand jury investigating the Plame outing.

And, yes, I can easily prove the rest of what I said.

I cannot name a major Moonie in a position of power on the paper, if that helps.

And the person you mentioned is working for the WH. I don't think Moon has any sway with Bush. I doubt Bush has ever met Moon, though I could be mistaken on that.

If he had his followers with the paper early on, they're not there now. Not from anything I've ever seen.

You are aware that Bush has a good reason to not trust the liberal press. CBS was certainly less than friendly. And, like it or not, Goldberg's book has proven to be stunningly accurate.

I mean, Fox News at least gets credit for Murdoch and Ailes at all times insisting it's unbiased and impartial.

I've never heard a comment from Moon on much of anything, to be honest, so I'll take your word.

But you also seemed to think the head of CNN's News Division claiming that the military targeted journalists probably wouldn't impact CNN's coverage.

First off, the question was asked because Wilson long denied his wife got him the job. Which she clearly and evidently did.

And the WH political staff knew Plame worked for the CIA (hell, Wilson himself told everybody that) --- they did NOT know she was a covert agent. And there is no evidence that Gannon had any "inside" info about anything.

Just because the Washington Post alleges somthing --- and I'd like to see the allegation --- does not make it so.

First off, the question was asked because Wilson long denied his wife got him the job. Which she clearly and evidently did.

LA Times, 7/15/05, Senior CIA official:

Her bosses say she did not initiate the idea of her husband going. ... They asked her if he'd be willing to go, and she said yes,' the official said

-On the Plame outing

WaPo, Oct. 2K3:

Sources said the CIA is angry about the circulation of a still-classified document to conservative news outlets suggesting Plame had a role in arranging her husband's trip to Africa for the CIA. The document, written by a State Department official who works for its Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR), describes a meeting at the CIA where the Niger trip by Wilson was discussed, said a senior administration official who has seen it.

CIA officials have challenged the accuracy of the INR document, the official said, because the agency officer identified as talking about Plame's alleged role in arranging Wilson's trip could not have attended the meeting.

"It has been circulated around," one official said. CIA and State Department officials have refused to discuss the document.

On Oct. 28, Talon News, a news company tied to a group called GOP USA, posted on the Internet an interview with Wilson in which the Talon News questioner asks: "An internal government memo prepared by U.S. intelligence personnel details a meeting in early 2002 where your wife, a member of the agency for clandestine service working on Iraqi weapons issues, suggested that you could be sent to investigate the reports. Do you dispute that?"

"Gannon" bragged about his role in outing Plame on forums of the ultra-conservative website freerepublic.com, posting under the subtle nom-de-plume, "Jeff Gannon"

-On "Gannon's" hyprocrisy in running gay military escort services:

He referred in one of his articles to John Kerry derisively as potentially the "first gay President".

-McClellan has admitted that he knew "Gannon" was working under an alias

You need to read her letter of recommendation. That a paper still suggests she wasn't actively pimping her husband for this position is laughable. CONGRESS has released the letter where she was pushing for her husband to be put in the position he was sorely incapable of performing.

Still haven't given me a reason to give two shits about this Gannon fella.

He was an Africa expert w/ ties to the Nigerian administration.

And, man. I wish I could get an all expenses paid trip to Niamey. That would be sweeeeet.

A nobody conservative activist w/ no press credentials w/ exclusive access to sensitive classified government documents.

A nobody conservative activist w/ no press credentials involved in the outing of a CIA operative.

Nothing to see here folks, move along.

He was hardly the mot qualified guy for the job --- and listening to his OWN description of what he did over there (mainly sit around and drink tea), he was a shoddy choice.

People asked why on God's Earth Bush picked HIM to research so important a topic.

The reason: His wife in the CIA pimped him.

Still haven't given me a reason to give two shits about this Gannon fella.

He states he didn't. You have proof that he got them?

A nobody conservative activist w/ no press credentials involved in the outing of a CIA operative.

And you've yet to demonstrate that ANYBODY knew she was a covert agent.

Just to give you a heads up, Wilson told PLENTY of people his wife worked for the CIA. It was not a secret.

Her being covert was one and one the political wing of the WH would not know. All they would know is that she worked for the CIA.

He references the memo in the interview w/ Wilson. Other news agencies didn't have access to the memo when the interview took place.

Gotta bounce. 8 mile long run today.

"Other news agencies" don't want to do any ACTUAL work, either. What they report is hardly a concern.
