Vague title, but I didn't really know how to word this one. What I meant was have you guys ever seen a movie that you'd never heard of before, but your friends were like, "you definitely need to see this"? And then, once you watched it, you recommended it to everyone else you knew? I was like that with Boondock Saints and Suicide Kings, specifically. Anyone else want to suggest a few movies that the rest of the board maybe hasn't seen but definitely should?

Boondock Saints

Suicide Kings

American Psycho (A lot of people I know haven't seen this, or even heard of it)

I only know one person in real life that I even bother suggesting movies to.

Most people I know don't like most movies I like.

For years, I'd heard about some movie called Office Space. Had never seen an ad for it, had never seen it on TV or noticed it at the video store. Just had a bunch of my friends telling me I HAD to see this movie. Well, I did, and hey, they were right. (Peter Gibbons even drives the same kind of car as me!)

Well in a Vice Versa situation, two movies me and my best friend saw on opening night(seperate ocassions of course), in a theater half full, saw Office Space & American History X, and recommened them to everyone we know.

I know Office Space didn't get big until DVD, and American History X also became a bigger hit once it was on DVD.

i remember seeing 'office space' with my best friend the first day it was released. NOBODY was in that theater, and we laughed our asses off.

those were the days, back when i could quote the "two chicks at the same time" line and people wouldn't know what i was talking about. i got a lot of funny looks back in the day.

I didn't fall in love with Pitch Black or anything, but I had never even heard of it and a friend talked me into going and I ended up walking out of the theater saying, "Man, that was a damn fine little sci-fi flick"...

"two chicks at the same time"

"show her my oh face"

"mmhmm, yeaaaaaaah, ok"

All classic stuff that no one identified for a good long while.

Also I like I mentioned, I saw American History X opening night, and at that time either people knew it as the "RACIST KKK MOVIE" or they had never even heard of it at all. So when I asked others about the outrageous "curbing" scene, no one knew what the hell I was talking about for the longest time.
