Guest Kimaster1976 Report post Posted February 8, 2005 A few years ago, 1997 I believe the WWF released a collection of uncut WrestleMania's on video (not the hacked Colliseum versions). Will they ever re-release the uncut versions on DVD or has the court case with the World Wildlife Fund ended any such chance of releases again?

Will they ever re-release the uncut versions on DVD or has the court case with the World Wildlife Fund ended any such chance of releases again? Heh, the good ol' "WrestleMania on DVD" post - this gets brought up every so often . . . I think they eventually will, maybe releasing two or three at a time, or something of that sort. They've been releasing them two at a time in the UK under the name "Tagged Classics" . . . they really don't have to worry much about the Wildlife guys until you get to the Attitude era with the scratch logo, plus omitting the letters WWF when said out loud . . . plus having to edit the word "Hulk" from Hogan's name. Maybe it would be a bigger pain in the ass to release them after all.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 8, 2005 I think the Hogan situation is they can't market him as "Hulk" Hogan. They've reffered to him several times on TV as Hulk, and even left in the name Hulk whenever they air a WM Rewind with him in it.
Nightfall 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Yes, just like the old CV tapes, I see them releasing WM's on dvd. I think they'd do it like they are in europe with the Tagged Classics, but I'm thinking atfer they're all out they'll release a box set, which is what I would wait for. I wonder if they'd have any extras on there? Not so much on the old one's I'd think, but they should on the later ones.

So the box would have to say 'Hogan' or 'Hollywood Hogan' or 'The Hulkster' is what you're saying?
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Not Hulkster, it would be violating of the Marvel agreement. Hulkster, Hulkamania, and Hulk Hogan are no longer available for marketing. He's just plain old Hollywood Hogan now.
LessonInMachismo 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 For one, that "Wrestlemania: The Legacy" set isn't exactly uncut. One of the tapes lists Nacho Man vs. The Huckster as a match but it is nowhere on the tape. That would have been nice to have. I bought the set including 1-13 in 1999 for a lot on money only to learn that they released another one a few months later including 1-14. What makes me royally pissed of is the XX DVD I bought. I thought it was going to be a great deal. The third disc was supposed to have WM's ten greatest matches. When I played it, I found out that it was that TV special hosted by Ric Flair with clips of the matches. I have all of the matches anyway, but it would have been nice to have them all on one disc. But to make up for it, a decent documentary is also on the disc, going behind the scenes of XIX.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Huckster/Nacho Man happend on the Free For All, so it's false advertisement saying it was on the actual PPV.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 I bought the set including 1-13 in 1999 for a lot on money only to learn that they released another one a few months later including 1-14. The I-13 set was actually a great deal . . . $80 through mail order IIRC. Then, they released "The Legacy" (I-XIV) for $150 the following year.
LessonInMachismo 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2005 Eh, I just moved, so I can't check, but I may have gotten "The Legacy" 1-14 but then they came out with one that included 15. Yes, I believe that's it. I bought it at Suncoast, which was a really stupid decision.
