How nice of you to mention T In The Park. Despite my reservations about this list after seeing you mention the Download festival, I feel that it is overall a good list of the best UK festivals.

I only remembered Download because I'm probably going and my best friends keep going on about how excited they are. I will amend the list for you my good sir and hopfully you level of appaltion shall decrease.

Heh, my well end up opening up my student house for the Reading Festival. "You dont want to sleep in the mud? Ok, give us money and get out by 8:30 tomorrow morning." Still not gonna go this year though.

Not a bad plan, you'll just have to hope for weather like last year, it was literally the drizzling shits the first couple of days, thankfully it cleared up.

I'm not sure if I should go to Reading or not this year. I've been the past 5 years and it's become a bit of a tradition now, but it looks like I'm going to Download instead.I'd really have to save a hell of allot of money to get a ticket this year as the past years my parents have bought the tickets, this year they've said no way.

They sell well and are British. If it wasn't for the fact they are in the studio, I can imagine Lostprophets on the bill instead of them. So, could be worse.

I might go to the Urban Music Festival this year.

Why are Feeder headliners for Download? Strange.

Because they wanted to add an Indie day to the bill. I'm sure there are better bands out there than Feeder that fill the bill of "Indie" Feeder are just about big enough to headline a tent IMO, no where near big enough to headline a main stage at Download.

G Money, you'll be glad to know that i've ammended my first response to this topic.

Yes, I am indeed pleased to here it :)

Ah, I see...isn't an indie stage going to get shit on? I thought Download was pretty hardcore. But anyway, I'm not sure where to go for my festival fix this year. Nothing particularly exciting announced so far.

Yeah download is by and large a metal festival and I'm pretty sure this stage will get shit on. I've got a bunch of friends that went last year and are already bitching about it. I wouldn't mind personally if they'd at least gotten some better bands for it.

It sucks? That's news to me, I've gone the last 5 years and really enjoyed it. The last 2 years I will admit haven't been spectacular, but it's still a way off from completely sucking yet.

My exact response.

I'm gonna go, camp with my mates, bitch about how crap metal is and try to take advantage of some goth chicks.

Should also be going to Reading, as that's more to my taste.

I'm more of a Reading fan as well myself, I prefer the variety there to most other festivals. Also it has become a tradition to go now as well. Hopefully I'll be able to come up with the money to go, although it's looking doubtful at the moment. I've got my Download ticket to pay for, got a trip to Birmingham in April to finance, it dosen't help that I'm leaving my job this coming Monday so I'm not going to have anymore money coming in apart from sporadic electrical work I'll be doing.

But no love for Bloodstock Open Air? I plan on being there just for Children of Bodom and the chance to talk my way backstage to interview some of the British bands performing.

It should be a good show and at skipping distance from Brum and fairly cheap (£40 for both days) I' can't really pass it up. Unless Uni ties my hands.

Got my Glasto ticket. (!) May go to Leeds. Pixies, plus Killing fucking Joke are a mild rumour. That would do me just fine. However, I will be auctioning my kidney off in GC for anyone interested as I usually go through a couple of hundred on beer and wine alone in preparation for a festival.

Well there are at least 135 music festivals of some kind going on in the UK, if I included that I'd have to include them all wouldn't I now? I was just trying to cover the more well known ones.

I would of thought you'd be free in time for it, it being the very far end of June.

I am going to the Vincent Gallo-curated All Tomorrow's Parties, although the lineup is kind of disappointing, especially after last year's Sonic Youth/Stephen Malkmus one.

I think there's a few good acts on, Suicide in particular interest me, but I can never be arsed.

I still think it's a pretty good lineup, but last year there was hardly a moment when there wasn't a band who I'd pay to see playing.
