Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 Has anyone ever tried to have a network game? I have no idea how they work at all. Could we have a Smartmarks game?
rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 I miss Champ Man 3. I've still got it, but it wont run on Windows XP. I may have to try Linux. For some reason, the new games, for all their realism, seem to lack the magic of the older games. Maybe it's just because I'm older now, but they don't seem to grip me like they used too. FM is better than CM4 though.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted February 18, 2005 If anyone is struggling I have a great tactic for any team. PM me if you want it.
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 I find ultra defensive, four defenders, two defensive midfielders, three central midfielders, one striker and playing counter attack seems to work pretty well. Any time I've tried to play attacking I get slaughtered.
Anorak 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 I've had no luck at all playing AMC's just behind the front strikers for some reason. So far i've done better with wingers or just sticking two central midfielders in front of 1 DMC, 3 CB's and 2 wing-backs. That's only with Leicester and Slavia Prague however. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 The 5-3-2 formation that's on the list seems to work (at least with Palace) against the big teams. I used a lot before I bought Joaquin, who gets like 8s and 9s nearly every game and can only play RW.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2005 Has anyone ever tried to have a network game? I have no idea how they work at all. Could we have a Smartmarks game? I'd be up for it, but I can't until I get a new pc, because my laptop's not fast enough to handle it. But yeah, I used to, I used to kick my mate's ass all the time when he was Leeds, and I was Derby. Was muchos fun.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2005 Damn it, I keep getting a message that i can't save my game whenever I try to, it goes to the windows screen and says something like 'it hasnt been possible to save your game' or 'you cant save your game' or whatever. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 Has anyone ever tried to have a network game? I have no idea how they work at all. Could we have a Smartmarks game? Is anyone interested in this now? My new pc has a gig of ram and every screen is instant now.. So anyone wanna play a network game?
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 Look at this. LOOK AT THIS. I just won the Double in my first season (FA Cup and Championship..) And I get THIS message. oh my.
Vanhalen 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Can someone please tell me what Champ Man 02-03 is like on the X-Box pleeeeeaaaaasssssssseeeeeeeee
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 It's interesting, you'll find it a lot more difficult than the same game on the PC, and the controls are weird because you'd be so used to the PC version. Worth it if you know your tactics, and I mean REALLY know them.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Bump. Anyone know a place with an update with all the latest transfers in? Edit: preferably for FM 05 but one for CM 01/02 is cool as well.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 http://www.thedugout.net is like the essential FM/CM site. Updates for everything there.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 I was in a room a while back with three men on three PCs managing Barca, Madrid and Valencia and all wearing the corresponding shirts. They barely moved in two weeks.
k thx 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Just signed 30 yr old Defoe for League One Bournemouth on a free. Best transfer I ever made.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 I got Fowler for Oxford in League Two for £7,000 when he was 33. Robbie Fowler. Seven thousand.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Was that on FM or CM? On CM 01/02 I got Bergkamp and a 37 year old Tony Adams plus 2 Million for Ryan Williams. Edit: Did anyone else have a group of players who they had to try and sign no matter what club they were? My group was Andy Richmond,Tonton Moukoko,Mark Kerr,To Madeira(before patches took him away),Michael Jack,Matt Blinkhorn,Cherno Samba and Ryan Williams. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 In this current game, Kaka and Adriano are always the two I NEED to have. Puyol and Zambrotta usually make it in too. The rest are just filler. And the Fowler buy was this years FM.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 I could never sign Adriano, he always cost 50 million, I'd get Robinho instead.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Bumped this thread for numerous reasons. 1) FM 2007 should be out before Christmas. 2) I need help finding a new update for FM2006 with all the latest transfers. 3) Can a mod change the title of this thread to something like 'Football Manager' as to include talk of previous and future games? deancoles 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 The most up to date one is this. http://www.sendspace.com/file/jty77o August 28th update, doesn't let you use FM Scout though. http://footballmanagerupdate.myfreeforum.org/index.php Their Forums

Guest BOOT Report post Posted August 30, 2006 I have football manager and by using 4-5-1 (or 4-2-3-1) and a great many free transfers had two very long and successful games as Barca and then Liverpool. Will be picking up FM2007 when it's released, but I think i'll pick a team that will make things a bit more challenging. Maybe Newcastle, or Portsmouth if i'm feeling lucky. k thx 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2006 I think Pompey on FM 2007 will be interesting. They'll have money and a few decent players, but little allure. It'll be a good long term gain. Alternatively you could try bringing Juventus (or one of the bigger championship teams) back to prominence.
Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2006 Yah I was thinking about Juventus too. It is certainly a challenge to bring Juventus back to the top where they always were. West Ham United could be fun too because of their new players: Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez. Try to make West Ham United a worldclass team by buying better players every year and by keeping that Argentinian couple at West Ham instead of letting them go to Chelsea, like what will happen in real life for sure. Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2006 Chelsea are pretty funny in FM. Whilst managing Spurs they bought Defoe from me for £27 million. Ten months later I signed him back for £10 million. They also bought Tevez for £30m and sold him to me for £14m after about 8 months. FM07 should be pretty interesting, I'm looking forward to using the feeder club system.
Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2006 Chelsea are pretty funny in FM. Whilst managing Spurs they bought Defoe from me for £27 million. Ten months later I signed him back for £10 million. It's funny because they did the exact same in my game (except I got him on loan, and then an even more cut down price). I haven't played it in a few months, I kind of fucked up my last game, but i'll prob start again. I'm guessing 2007 is coming out in Nov as usual?
