Vince just didn't have a quad tear

HOW VINCE MCMAHON INJURED HIS OTHER QUAD

By: Joey Styles

2/17/2005 12:40:10 PM

Vince McMahon suffered torn quad tendons in both legs at the Royal Rumble and had surgery to repair the damage.

The quad tendon in his right leg was damaged when he attempted to slide into the ring at the end of the Royal Rumble match.

The injury to the quad tendon in his left leg apparently happened backstage when he attempted to walk from the building unassisted. The word we get is that Shane McMahon approached his father to help him from the building and that Vince McMahon said he didn't need any help. We're told that after taking a few steps and putting all of his weight on the left leg to compensate for the injury to his right leg, his leg buckled and he suffered the tear to the left quad.

Intresting.

Wonder if he'll be using the wheelchair that he used back in late 98.

Was there a reason for him using that chair (non-kayfabe)

In storyline Taker and Kane broke his ankle at the Joe Louis Arena after he flipped Taker the bird. I thought the cycle accident came later.

Was that also where he called Taker and Kane "Two Putrid Pussies"?

It was after Breakdown where his ankle was "broken":

Vince: "And maybe, just maybe, you can get it right. I'd like to wish you the best of luck, you know why? Because I think the two of you are gonna need it, becuase as far as I'm concerned, it's like dealing with the handicapped, one's physical (looking at Kane) and one's mental (looking at Undertaker). Good luck to you both."

*Undertaker grabs Vince*

Taker: "You need to watch your ass, because the next time you get out of line with either one of us, you're gonna be the one handicapped, and that I will promise."

*Undertaker turns his back, and Vince flips a double bird, but Undertaker turns and sees it*

He called them "two putrid pussies" before Breakdown (I want to say on one of those Saturday night Raws).

I guarantee that the last thing Vince would blame this on is steroids.

I am sure Vince would blame it on Ted Turner...So?

Do you have a point to make ?

I think his point was that you suck.

Does anyone have a video of Vince sliding into the ring? I want to see it again.

Thanks.

The Pussies line came at a Raw taped the night after Summerslam 98 but pre-empted till Saturday for the damn dog show.

Probably would have been for the US Open at that point in the year. The dog show's in the winter (I think it's going on right now, actually).

I think he was in a wheelchair (I think because of the motorcycle accident) when he signed that contract for the Austin/Undertaker first blood match at Fully Loaded '99. I remember him stabbing Austin in the head with a pen and signing the contract in Austin's blood.

What generic Alter Bridge song will be used for his comeback video?

This made me laugh.

But let's get serious. We all know it will be Creed's "My Sacrifice".

BTW, since this is a quad tear, does this mean that when Vince returns he'll have packed on about 50 lbs. of muscle? That seems to be the trend.

Does anyone else think that now, thankfully, Vince McMahon will never again wrestle a match? By the time the injury heals he'll be pushing 60, and (as far as I know) he hasn't wrestled since Survivor Series '03.

I'm sure he'll make some kind of appearance at WM 21 or the HOF ceremony, even if wheelchair-bound, but it's definitely a blow to his in-vince-ability.
