Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 This actually looks pretty decent. Keep in mind, i've yet to see the original. Is it just me or does that look like Paris Hilton. House Of Wax Trailer
dpac Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Considering she is in the movie I would have to go with yes.
2GOLD Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Dark Castle + Paris Hilton + Elisha Cuthbert acting= No sale from me.
Guest LooneyTune Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Way to go hollywood with ruining another Vincent Price classic. What next, a movie based on the Honeymooners?
Boner Kawanger Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Pssh, Vincent Price wasn't in The Honeymooners! But man, that would have been cool. You know they're doing a Honeymooners movie, right?
Ted the Poster Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 ^ and that it's starring Cedric the Entertainer and Mike Epps. I gotta go watch my Honeymooners DVDs and undepress myself now.
CBright7831 Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 This doesn't look anything like the original.
Guest spidyfan77 Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 I've got news: House of Wax itself is an inferior remake of Mystery of the Wax Museum with 3D added for the kiddies. So this movie will be an ultra bad remake of a remake of a classic. I didn't even SEE a deranged sculptor anywhere in this new one...WTF?
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 From what I heard, the arts school I'm going to start attending is the main setting for this movie. I wonder if Miami will actually have anything actually worth two shits ever shot here? I mean, come on.. Bad Boyz II, 2 Fast 2 Furious, all the moronic music vids on MTV, and now this.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 That not a bloody remake That's a completely different movie "borrowing" the title of a famous movie. House on Haunted Hill was mostly a good remake of a Vincent Price film. Unfortunaly it had a terrible ending, which ruined it all.

You didn't like the big talking cloud? Just when I thought Dark Castle couldn't ruin that movie, they unleashed a dark cloud of stuff that TALKS! Oh and for some more information on this "movie": The director, Jaume Serra, has directed nothing. This is apparently his first project ever. Oh and to fill you with more hope of the suckage of this? Carey and Chad Hayes, the writers, wrote for Baywatch and Baywatch Nights. Also wrote SHUTTERSPEED, which starred Steve "Sting" Borden. Poor Charles Belden. And yes, "House of Wax" the original was a remake of Mystery of the Wax Musuem. Which was written as a play by Charles Beldin but actually followed the story rather closely.

What are your views on ANY GIVEN SUNDAY? Cause that was filmed in Miami. And what about Ace Ventura Pet Detective? Or the obvious CSI:MIAMI?

Ted the Poster Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 CSI: Miami made me finally forgive David Caruso for NYPD Blue. How's the Vincent Price version of this, btw?

The fact that Ace Ventura is probably the most groundbreaking, well made film of the bunch speaks for itself. And I liked Any Given Sunday.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Vincent Price's "House of Wax" was great, but that has nothing to with this House of Wax. This appears to be a remake in name only. The plot makes it sound more like TCM.
Guest LooneyTune Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Pssh, Vincent Price wasn't in The Honeymooners! But man, that would have been cool. You know they're doing a Honeymooners movie, right? I know, just one of those "What next..." comments. (sighs relief that this is just stealing the name) So the VP version was a remake, eh? Oh well, it still ruled, although I found the end to be a little "eh". This appears to be a remake in name only. The plot makes it sound more like TCM. The original () or the remake ()?
Gary Floyd Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Eh, looks like crap. If anything, it's more like the cult flick "Tourist Trap" meets "Wrong Turn". Granted, I liked those two movies, but still...the only way I'll pay to see it is to see Paris Hilton Die a horrible death
cabbageboy Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Bah, I screwed up again and listed under my bro's ID of spidyfan. Anyway, the Vincent Price version is pretty dull stuff I think, certainly isn't as interesting as the original. Mystery of the Wax Museum is fascinating for its use of two color Technicolor in 1933, it has Lionel Atwill as the madman, Fay Wray as the damsel in distress, and Glenda Farrell as a prototype of the chick reporter. One thing that irked me about House of Wax is that I thought Price sold out to get his new museum over. Originally he had the historic figures before the museum burned down, but then sold out his beliefs and started using the murderer type stuff to draw people. In the original Atwill didn't do this, he stayed with his original vision of Voltaire and Marie Antoinette, etc. He just had people killed and embalmed in wax, that's all, haha.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 I've never heard of "House of Wax", but I have seen fun horror movie "Waxwork"...anyone else?
HellSpawn Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Well... I saw HoW's trailer and it looks fine. Probably it won't be a new classic, but it looks at least very fun to watch. Guys, not every movie has to be made for/with Top Ten, Multimi Million Dlls Cast. In this years we got very good movies, in fact, better than good movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead, The Grudge & Wrong Turn.
Special K Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 I would call the new Dawn of the Dead 'good' and the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre 'ok.' Both were devoid of originality, and the original TCM blows the new one away so badly it's ridiculous. What is this Wrong Turn? Hmmm. Eliza Dusku. I think I shall rent. The only really good horror movie I've seen lately that that doesn't star zombies is Audition. Creepy as hell.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 I enjoyed Wrong Turn. It's nothing great or original, but it's a fun horror movie if you allow it to be.
NoCalMike Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Paris Hilton and Elisha Cuthbert are in this? Are they sure this shouldn't be called "House of the Bikini Wax" ?
Guest El Satanico Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 I've seen enough Dark Castle films that LOOK good, to not buy into any trailer from them. It'll be just another DC film that looks good and has good atmosphere, but wastes it all on a bad script, plot or ending.
