Guest Deadbolt Report post Posted February 27, 2005 A Detroit restaurant's food is so good that a fire apparently couldn't even keep customers away, Local 4 reported. The fire broke out on the roof of Steve's Soul Food Restaurant on Grand River at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday. More than 50 people were eating inside the restaurant when the fire sent smoke through the building. Customers had to be coaxed out and the restaurant shut down, Local 4 reported. The owner, Steve Radden, said he's eager to reopen his business. "I'm going to get it back as soon as possible, hopefully only a week or two," said Radden. "We don't know how extensive the damage is. We're waiting for the adjusters to come out and let us know what's going on." Radden said he plans to temporarily park his catering truck in the parking lot to continue doing carryout orders. Yea why not..

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 27, 2005 This was an event, and rather current. Technically, it does.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2005 But Dr. Tom's fluff thread overrules that. So...... how about that war?
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted February 27, 2005 Shut up Bob Evidently they weren't cleaning their vents everyday like they should be and a grease fire broke out on the roof cause of it. Its not even a big deal to clean the vents either. You take them down and give them to the dishwasher who just soaks them in shit and runs them through the machine. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2005 I always felt Current Events was meant for stories that effect the country and/or the changing landscape of the world. Some morons sitting through a fire won't enact any law changes so it feels fluffier than a Teddy Bear.

Current Events to me is stuff that would make your local late news.

Hunter was either incredibly loved or incredibly hated. I was always in the middle on the guy as I felt he was giving way more credit than he deserved but he wasn't backwash horrible. HOWEVER, his death does effect the country in that way. He is a famous author who decided to be a little bitch. It does effect the literary world with his death therefore it has an effect on the country. Plus it brings to the forfront the effects of suicide on families and friends. Hence, a current event. People in a burning restaurant who don't want to leave? Doesn't effect me or anything else one damn bit.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 All I know is, if theres a fire in the kitchen I work in, it better be bad enough to burn the entire city down before I pull the "foam grenade pin" out of the fire extinguisher system we have. By doing that, it shuts the whole place down for a minimum of a week to clean up all the foam because it litterally blasts a foot thick layer of foam all over everything (or so Im told), And being that its a hospital..thats not good. Id love to see people try to sit through that.
