02/28 RAW Rating

Recommended Posts

Raw drew 4.1 rating, up from last week's 4.0. Every quarter hour was 4.0 or above but one. It began with a 4.0 and peaked at a 4.5 for quarter five for the Batista's promo with the Triple H and Ric Flair run-in. Then it dropped back down to 4.0 the final three quarters, but then peaked at a 4.6 for the overrun.

It would appear the Batistia push is a success, as ratings go UP for him.

I'm going to assume the reasoning for the increase at the end wasn't for the people involved but for the fact it was built a week ahead of time and street fights aren't so common and bloodbaths aren't common on television.

They raised it for last year, and I guess decided to keep the price despite this year's show being shorter.

it's 50 bucks? I thought it was the usual $39.99

Smart people would just pre-order the dvd for $16.18 from the discount site.

Smart people who don't mind waiting a month.

Fuck that I'm getting the webcast (it's better than our shitty Time Warner cable box that always freezes and pixilates, plus i have a tv out from my computer to my TV so it's better + ~bonus matches~). Wrestlemania parties rock, I'm gonna be shit faced and marking the fuck out by the time Batista-Trips rolls along.

Sounds like you got an early start.

it's called a bar.

Instead of doing something illegal, or wasting 40+ bucks or waiting a month...

I drive a couple miles up the road, order a good meal, sit back with a couple friends and enjoy the show.

Or even smarter, watch it for free

you got a black box or sometin'?

Just go to BW3's, if there's one local. They never made me buy food when I went to watch the Rumble.

Cons of watching PPVs at bars:

-Potentially shitty food.

-Annoying-as-hell marks.

-Overpriced drinks.

-Can't hear shit.

-Possible cover charge.

Never seen a cover charge in the many bars I attended over the years for PPV's.

Annoying marks make it somewhat more fun. I usually never have a section of annoying fans anyways.

The audio is ALWAYS pristine at my local bars and just in case, half the screens are captioned for your conveience.

Overpriced drinks? im sXe; so i wouldn't know how much beer is but soda is the regular price it is at any bar/resturant with free refills.

Shitty food? Most of these places are really good eating posts. Usually i just have a real dinner and just get a few wings or potato wedges.

The only con of the bar is that there is none.

Yeah, the bar idea works great if I'm in Missoula, but if I'm in Pullman I'm kind of screwed. Of course, ordering it isn't really under consideration either. Either I'll get it bootleg off of the web or just say screw it.

Well we never had any bars showing it around here. My friend had a black box back in 97. That's how I got to see a whole lot of the PPVs back then.

Just get some friends to come over and split the cost. Or better yet, convince one of them to order it, then show up at his house and eat all of his food.

$5 once a month isn't a budget-busting expenditure to go see a PPV at a sports bar. I love it, and would still do it even if WWE dropped their PPV prices down to $10. Marks help you tune out all the smarkishness and just enjoy the show. I've cheered for things I wouldn't by myself. You also end up meeting a lot of really knowledgeable people and can just make fun of old school stuff during dull matches.
