Lil Jon has used the confederate flag, by the way.

Oh well THAT makes it okay then.

JBL used the Nazi salute. Does that make it cool too?

Do you know who Lil Jon is?

Just because he's black, does not make it acceptable.

Lil Jon is hardly an ambassador for Blacks across the country.

It's a flag for fuck's sake not a Swastika. The Civil war wasn't just about Slavery, and the Conferderate flag is more a sign of Southern Independance than anything else.

Not always.

You had states like Georgia that added the Confederate flag when desegregation laws were being passed. The flag was implicated as a "Fuck you darkies" then and people try to pretend it means heritage now. BS.

AND bottomline, the war was over slavery. That is what the south chose to draw the line over. They had problems with other things concerning states rights, but they didn't go to war over them. When Slavery was abolished, thats when they put their foot down, so yeah, even though most in the fighting weren't slaveowners, they were fighting over slavery.

Confederate flags, flags of what was basically a group of traitors should not be flown side by side with the US or the United states flag as though it is their equal. It is a flag of traitors and while it does have its place in historical establishments such as musems and as an important part of history, it should not be treated with the reverence that it is by southern government. And when people display a flag that is commonly associated with racism(due to the fact that it was used almost exclusively that way at one point) you can't whine about it giving off that view about yourself.

Wha?

Regardless of where you stand on the Confederate Flag issue or even the causes of the Civil War debate this is simply not true. Slavery in the South was not abolished or really even threatened before the Civil War. It was already established that slavery was well protected under the Constitution. When he was elected, Abe himself promised not to touch Slavery where it all ready existed. However he did promise to stop it from spreading into the new territories if that's what you mean.

That's funny, all I could see from the mainpage was "Morgan Freeman: I'm joining the" and the first thing I thought was "KKK" just because of how absurd it sounds. And sure enough.... :D
