Positively Kanyon 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Anyone else have the problem of getting MP3 files from Kazza Lite Revolution, and when you go to play the file, it's just a big lot of nothing for about 16 minutes... Why am I getting corrupt files?
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Find a new network besides Kazaa/Sidetrack. RIAA and the labels have been creating bad files with similar file names and structure (i.e. size, ID tag, etc) as the original MP3s and been uploading them around for a while now. So when you download what you think is a music file, it gets ruined by downloading a bogus file from an RIAA client as well as whoever has downloaded it and hasn't checked it, etc. It's basically not possible to tell them apart. Kazaa is dead thanks to industry crackdown, go find a new service.

yankovic fan 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2005 My friend is a big downloader and uses E-Mule. He says it runs slow though, but whatever. He said he can download entire discographys and the like. Yeah I remember when I had Kazaa I downloaded 10-15 Live and Let Die mp3s and ALL were corrupt.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted March 12, 2005 Try WinMX too (http://www.winmx.com/) and Soulseek (link available in the file-sharing thread in this same folder) if those aren't good for you, by the way. Good luck.
evilhomer 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2005 There's a lot of bad files on Kazaa. I've seen those ones you're describing and also a lot that start out okay then go to complete loud screeching noises. I've got just about everything that interests me so I haven't searched much for an alternative but E-Mule and E-Donkey aren't too bad. The only thing is that you really need an 'always on' connection. Download speeds are normal but it sometimes takes hours, days or weeks to actually start downloading.
