I don't think I've ever heard someone call it "soda" except for americans.

We did call it pop- in the 50s.

I heard someone call it "soda" the other day for, I believe, the first time even in real life. Everyone here calls it "coke" no matter what brand it may or may not be.

 

Oh... and I have a weird fear of the dark. Not an "Oh my God, I can't be in a dark room," but I tend to get creeped out and start imagining weird things moving around in the corners of my eyes.
