Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted March 14, 2005 first off, there's only 3 casinos with hold em, the Bellagio being far and away the best. second, I saw these odds several days of jager shots and hallucinogenic drugs ago, so I may make some mistakes NL EAST Mets 8-1 Braves 10-1 Marlins 10-1 Phillies 25-1 (my bet) Nationals 150-1 NL CENTRAL Cubs 3-1 Cards 5-1 Astros 25-1 Brewers 150-1 Pirates 250-1 NL WEST Dodgers 10-1 Giants 12-1 Padres 15-1 DBacks 35-1 AL EAST Yanks +160 Red Sox +140 O's 40-1 Jays 150-1 DRays 250-1 AL CENTRAL Twins 10-1 Tigers 15-1 White Sox 15-1 Indians 20-1 Royals 250-1 AL WEST M's 10-1 Angels 10-1 A's 30-1 Rangers 35-

NYU 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Worst bet on the list is the Mets. Shall I try to guess who you feel should have gotten the best odds in the NL East? I'm a little surprised the Rangers are so high at 35-1. And the Nationals at 150-1 is absurd.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 I'm surprised the Astros are 25-1. With their offense lacking a leadoff hitter unless Willy Taveras steps up and no protection for Bagwell the offense doesn't look too great. I guess they figure our pitching staff can get us a lot of 2-1 and 3-2 wins.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 It is important to remember that odds are set to minimize risk, not necessarily to produce the best projections.

I know you take every opportunity to look cool at my expense, but if you ACTUALLY go back and read all of my posts and not just the glaring ones that stick out, you'd see that I'm not a blind Marlins apologist. I'm a fan who is excited about the team for 2005, not some clueless putz who will espouse the greatness of whatever is there at the time. And thanks for asking to keep the flames away from the sports folder, even though you were obviously flame baiting. I'll be dealing with this all season, I'm guessing. Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 I've never heard of there being an actual favourite for a world championship. I thought everyone, seeing as how the actual odds are about one in thirty, start off as a "You get more money than you bet". I think I'm gonna plunk down a bill on the Jays. Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Jason Lane is primed to step up, and the Astros still have Lance Berkman. Well Berkman won't be there until probably May, and Lane's had a good spring, but I'll take a wait-and-see if he can do it for a full year.

Well, he did say he saw them during a Jager and shroom haze, so it's quite possible he just imagined the whole thing. That said, I got $5 on the Twins. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Bodog screws you a little bit on futures, so I'm guessing you can get odds a little better than this. That being said, here are some odds that are copy and pasted, rather than remembered in a drunken haze: Anaheim Angels 11/1 Arizona Diamondbacks 65/1 Atlanta Braves 15/1 Baltimore Orioles 50/1 Boston Red Sox 11/2 Chicago Cubs 10/1 Chicago White Sox 25/1 Cincinnati Reds 75/1 Cleveland Indians 45/1 Colorado Rockies 400/1 Detroit Tigers 70/1 Florida Marlins 15/1 Houston Astros 18/1 Kansas City Royals 500/1 Los Angeles Dodgers 40/1 Milwaukee Brewers 250/1 Minnesota Twins 25/1 New York Mets 15/1 New York Yankees 9/5 Oakland Athletics 50/1 Philadelphia Phillies 30/1 Pittsburgh Pirates 220/1 San Diego Padres 28/1 San Francisco Giants 17/1 Seattle Mariners 25/1 St Louis Cardinals 11/1 Tampa Bay Devil Rays 300/1 Texas Rangers 50/1 Toronto Blue Jays 250/1 Washington Nationals 275/

NYU 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Mik, stop trying to flamebait Mascot. This thread is about World Series odds, so let's keep it that way. And the odds iggy posted up seem much more accurate. Even I wouldn't have put the Mets at 8/1. 15/1 is more reasonable. There are still some questionable calls on there -- Astros at 18/1? -- but it looks to be more sensible overall.
