Rock/Austin is one of them for me as well. I thought it was all crazy talk that people had when they said this match was better than their match at Wrestlemania 15 (which I was a huge fan of), though I never saw Mania 17 live.

Once I sat down, got a tape, and watched it...I understood what it was all about, and why it was so special.

There's a lot of matches that could probably fit into this thinking about it.

As awesome as it was, Rock/Hogan at Wrestlemania 18 is still a pleasure to watch each and everytime I view it. Truly amazing stuff.

I agree with Rock/Austin, they worked it so well and incorporated meaning into everything they did, it was great. I also think in turn it made Rock's win at Mania 19 more special, because it was there he finally got the big win. Rock's repeated rock bottoms to be Austin reminded me of Austin's repeated chair shots to beat him two years prior. Well, at least it reminded me of it.

I would also throw a nod to Diesel / Hart main event at Surivor Series 95. I thought that match was worked very well by both men, and incorporated garbage brawling along with good psychology. And it completed the slow burn meltdown of Diesel (who was on a losing streak at this point) and turned him into a badass tweener character that I thought was a template for what Austin capitalized on in mid 96.

The Goldberg-Nash WCW title match. I just love the hell out of that match the more I see it. Scott Hall with a tazer is just representative of so many things in that match and company – awesome.

Rockers & Tito Santana v Rougeaus & Rick Martel - Summerslam '89

Don't remember thinking much about it at all at the time and watched it recently and loved it. All the work up until the nonsensical finish involving two illegal men is just superb.
