SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2005 And Marty is on SD too? Geez, he wasn't that good on Raw. They actually announced this match on last week's Smackdown, before anyone knew Marty was going to show up on Raw. Its part of Angle's "I'm going to do everything Shawn Michael's ever done" gimmick. One would assume the reason Shawn invited Marty to tag with him was specifically because Angle had challenged Marty to the match, and they thought it'd be a good a idea to remind the audience about his tag team history with HBK before Angle beats him on Smackdown. Taker666 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2005 I take it back, fuck the WWE. I don't even LIKE Orton, but this "everyone is scared of the Undertaker" shit got old YEARS ago. I know we've debated the merits of Orton winning / not winning against Taker at Mania, but even for those who don't want to see him come out with the victory at WM21, you have to admit that booking him like a pussy against Taker (which is how EVERYONE is booked against Taker) is just a stupid fucking idea. I mean, shit, even if he lost in a glorified squash (which is what I think it'll be) at the PPV, him actually stepping UP to Taker, showing courage to all of his low-rent voodoo, would do more to get him over. I stopped giving a crap about Randy Orton the 2nd he won the World Title. actually, I never really cared for him at all. When he was given that stupid main-event push and the World Title of all things. I started paying less attention to Raw. he does nonthing for me, the generic look, below average wrestling skills, generic theme music, hes just to boring to watch face or heel. his main-event push made me payed less attention to Raw and more on SD!. Seeing one of my favorite superstars, The Undertaker. take down my least favorite wrestler in the WWE would be a blessing for me. I hope they continue to play the "Orton is scared of Undertaker" game and Taker Tombstones him 1..2..3 at mania. Orton definlly deserves this treatment. this would definlly make up for his failed push.

Orton definlly deserves this treatment. this would definlly make up for his failed push According to the second set of spoilers, it wasn't like Orton ran away scared from Taker. He slapped him after signing the contract and left the ring, staring at him as he walked up the ramp. Not exactly courageous-like, but not pussy-like either. One would assume the reason Shawn invited Marty to tag with him was specifically because Angle had challenged Marty to the match, and they thought it'd be a good a idea to remind the audience about his tag team history with HBK before Angle beats him on Smackdown Didn't Michaels say something like the tag reunion being a tune-up for Jannetty before his match vs Kurt? I believe he said something to that effect.
QuestionMan 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2005 I wasn't impressed, either. Granted, I was only half paying attention to the match Stop right there. Your opinion just became meaningless. And I think it's an understood fact that the only reason Randy Orton got the World Title is so they could erase Brock Lesnar's name from the "Youngest World Champion" milestone. Probablly the stupidiest reason to give anyone a title shot IMO.
genius33 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2005 this "challenger can't touch the champion until the match occurs" thing is getting very very old. can't the writers think of anything better???
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 16, 2005 If they had any real reason to feud, then its a great idea (see Austin/HHH NWO 2001). It just makes the encounter that much more appreciated because it's been teased for so long. Cena/JBL will suck, and everyone knows it. No one cares either (except for the sheep Cena fans who like bad wrestling), so they are trying anything to get people to order (WM is always a big buyrate, so it doesn't matter anyway). genius33 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2005 oh i completely agree that it can help a match's anticipation... but it has been done so many times it's ridiculous.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 16, 2005 Especially when the match is going to be the #4 (or lower) match on the card. Angle/HBK, HHH/Batista, and UT/Orton are probably all more important than the SD Title (and there might be an argument for the Ladder Match too).

chaosrage 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2005 Regarding MJ's dropkicks: He's always done them like that... FOREVER. He makes contact with one foot and lands on his chest. If anything, I'm laughing at HBK completely botching a kip up, when he does it in every match. He doesn't do a rockers style kip-up every night though. He isn't used to going down and popping right back up. At least they botched it together. And who the hell says "eh" to a Rockers reunion? Eh... a Rockers match, you know we just had one of those about 13 YEARS AGO.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 16, 2005 I already defended that, but if seeing MJ fuck it up is funny, then HBK doing it even worse was even funnier.

Guest jake Report post Posted March 16, 2005 No velocity spoilers yet ?? Not many matches at smackdown this week ?? If Paul London beat Akio at velocity last week for the # 1 contender spot, then why is he fighting Kidman all of a sudden ??? Makes no sense.....
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 16, 2005 It's a very strange and mysterious thing that bookers do. It's called building someone up for the match by putting him over other people.
justcoz 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Since they don't appear to be giving Rey and Eddie any buildup for the Mania match maybe they can just throw together a tag champ vs. tag champ match with Rey/Eddie vs. Regal and Tajiri?

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 And I think it's an understood fact that the only reason Randy Orton got the World Title is so they could erase Brock Lesnar's name from the "Youngest World Champion" milestone. I don't buy that for a second. Is there any proof of this other than Orton casually mentioning he was younger than Brock was when he won it? No. They were pushing Orton and wanted to put Orton in a title fued with Triple H before Brock even left.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Orton was going to get the World Title at WM XX originally, when Brock was still with the company, so the original plan for Orton to get the belt had nothing to do with WWE wanting Orton and not Lesnar to be the youngest World Champion in WWE history. However, when Lesnar walked out, they did want someone other than Lesnar to be the youngest World Champion in WWE history, so the plan for Orton to get the belt was sped up. Building up London for the Cruiserweight title match? If WWE can pretend everyone cared about Gail Kim by putting her over every woman as champion, then putting someone over Cruiserweights won't be too much trouble either.
