Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 24/32 Lost a Final Four team (Syracuse) and have 15 of 16 sweet sixteen teams left
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 I'll have 25 if GT hangs on. Bucknell spoiled a perfect Syracuse bracket for me. And a perfect Sweet 16 too, it seems.
mike546 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 26/32 going into tomorrow. Damn those upsets. Question, as I'm bad at stuff like this. If I have one wrong team that I didn't pick in a 2nd round game against a team I got correct, does it still count as a "right pick" for me if the team I chose to get to the next round after that advances? Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 24/32 i finished with. Kansas is my only wrong pick i had going to the Sweet Sixteen, and i had them losing there anyway so my brackets remain mostly intact.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 I have no idea why everyone seemed to have Syracuse going so far...there was nothing about them this year that made me think they would go anywhere. I did have them at least jobbing to Michigan St. however, heh. My God U of L almost made me shit myself tonight, but then that was just 1 of about 15 games that were similar. When we inbounded the ball to Ellis in the last min. I was about to destroy the livingroom...the guy is awful at the line and I was PLEADING not to have him in. Now we have Ga Tech, and for several reasons we MUST 100% win this game. As far as Kansas goes, if you look back at various threads here you realize I have been trashing them all year. I think this once and for all shows what a total joke the RPI is, that these bums were #1 in it all year it seemed. It's goofy but I actually had KU in my Elite 8, even though I thought they sucked, heh. That was mainly due to having N. Iowa over Wisconsin and I had the temptation to put UNC/KU for obvious reasons. My brother actually had Bucknell winning here, which rocks while his goofy Chattanooga pick didn't quite pan out (though they led at the half). Tomorrow UK vs. Cincy...smell the ratings. mike546 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 I had Cuse and Kansas in the sweet 16, everything else is fine for me beside the fact Cuse was going to the final four in my bracket. dammit.
mike546 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 EDIT: Double post But I'll answer Cabbages question. To me, the whole Austin bracket was hard. I can't see Duke getting there, Kentucky doesn't really impress me, and I put Utah over Oklahoma in the 2nd round. So, I saw Cuse, who impressed the shit out of me in the big east tourney, upsetting Duke and beating an ok Kentucky team.
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 KU really should learn how to handle a Zone. Although Simien will have some time to find out how to not blow an easy last minute shot.
mike546 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 Oh come on. Lets see YOU hit that shot, with the entire world relying on you.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted March 19, 2005 he shouldn't be thinking about the entire nation at that moment. He should be thinking "make this shot and win"... not "oh god, millions are watching me"
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 Considering my lack of basketball experience and all, that's a really stupid question. I'm not the one going to school for my basketball abilities either.
Mole 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 I could have SWORN I had VT over Cuse, but in my Yahoo one it says I had Cuse. However, in my ESPN one it says I picked VT. I must have fucked up with my Yahoo one. Fuck.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 Why does everyone hate Kansas so much? They're like the Sooners of basketball apparently. And man FUCK this tournament! It's all fucking screwy! Nobody has put a good whipping on the lower seeds(except UNC)! Everyone is playing close! And upsets are starting to come left and right! I don't remember it being this mad last year! Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 I went 26 for 32 on my brackets (picking KU, Minnesota, Charlotte, Old Dominion, Syracuse and LSU)
Guest Evolution Report post Posted March 19, 2005 I applaud UNC for murdering Oakland. It brought a little bit of relief to a hectic day. Oh, and at 7-1, Chicago turned out to be my best bracket after the first round. 22/32, as I picked Iowa, Syracuse (Sweet 16), UTEP, Stanford, Minnesota, Ohio, Kansas (Sweet 16), UCLA, Creighton, and Alabama. Terrible stuff from me so far this year, and I'm just glad I didn't have to watch a #1 seed go down in the first.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 OK, I'm 25 out of 32 for the first round. I may have lost a shitload of Sweet 16 teams, but all my Elite 8 teams are fine, so I've got plenty of time to take things in the right direction. As for Georgia Tech, they let GW stay around for quite a while just like I figured they would. However, they never let GW get a lead and as soon as it got far enough in that they were worried, they went on a big run to put them away. I think they're actually ahead of where they were at this point last year when they were struggling to get by N. Iowa in the first round. I think they're in perfect shape to take out Louisville, and then after a few days off, they should be able to beat the UW/Pacific winner too. They haven't done anything all that impressive yet, but I think they're right where they need to be as far as a run to the Final Four is concerned.
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 am I fickle since I was pulling for KU because a friend of mine was a KU fan and I thought that it'd be better for KU to win so she'd be in a better mood

Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 Ok once again. Why does everyone hate Kansas so much? I'm pissed at the bastards for losing like dumbasses! But that doesn't make me hate them. I just hate them because of their RPI ranking, how they could be number 1 after sucking so hard at the end of the season. Also it didn't help that they were part of the most overrated bracket in the tournament, with them being the most overrated team.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 I got 21/32, and whopping 3 right in the Chicago bracket....THREE. Spaceman Spiff is the only one doing worse.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted March 19, 2005 I still think Duke is the overly largest *hated* team in america, but people at least respect Duke for getting the job done for the most part. While Kansas gets hyped every year and always blows it either in first round or when the title's on the line. Historic at collasping. Pretty much a Yankees/Braves dynamic there if you want to compare. Kansas been there alot and only have one title to show for it. Duke always dominates and has it's share of titles.(though not anywhere close to yankee like dominance. Only UCLA has obtained that status).
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 Well, apparently when I was making stupid impulse picks, I had a ten second lapse where I thought that Stanford might beat Mississippi State, so I'm actually at 24/32 in both pools now. Even worse, I'm missing a Sweet 16 team in every bracket. I really need a good weekend to get back into shape.
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 24/32 for me as well. The bad: I lost a Final Four team in Syracuse. The Good: I had the other 7 going out in the second round anyway. It also looks like I will get my "Wisconsin in the Sweet 16" pick right.

fairtoflair7 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 My Colonials ran toe to toe with GT. You just can't shoot 4-18 from the FT line and expect to win. Bynum and Jack absolutely killed us. When we tried to take the lead, tjey would just roar back. GT is a really good and experencecd tourney team. We shouldn't have even been a 12 in the first place but no need to complain now. Still it was a very good game. Dissappointed with the loss yet vey happy with GW's season.
