I'm sure that Wake will come back, but Gonzaga could easily blow it, and Arizona likely will. I've thought all along that Gonzaga would be more vulnerable in the first round than in the second or third. Watching them sleepwalk through a near-loss in Pullman was all it took to see how easily this team takes games off.

2GOLD Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 I think CHAT came into the Tournament with the same gameplan as Niagara. Just run down and throw the ball at the hoop. It works for awhile, they you start getting collapsed in on. When they SET offense, they score. When they run and throw, they mess up. Wake should pull away late here unless CHAT screws their head on straight.

Last year they made a huge run and now they are about to bump out Texas. Illinois better watch out and not turn their back on the Wolfpack.

I can see where you're coming from, if someone didn't tell you Texas won 20 games, you'd never guess it. They were very quiet this year.

Good size inside mostly. Course, I never pick against Olsen in the first round and most people still refuse to believe he has anything left in him. The guy could take a turd and make it into a Sweet 16 team.

For some reason I thought they'd lost more games than that and had an 8-9 conference record. I thought they finished the season 8-8 and then lost to Colorado in the Big XII tourney. Guess I just didn't pay attention to Texas.

Should've been clearer, but I thought everyone would've known what I meant.
iggymcfly Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 I just have thought Arizona was overrated all year, and I thought that Utah State was one of the most dangerous mid-majors. They did beat Utah by 25 and then beat Pacific in the finals of the Big West Tourney. Also, the slow-down style they use is the same one that WSU used to beat the Wildcats in Tucson, and nearly pull off the sweep in Pullman. As far as Utah State having the legs to pull off the upset, well apparently I was wrong on that one. I wish I could have watched the game to see what happened, but since I didn't, I really can't say why they lost.
