what Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 Last Year when I went to Raw in Anaheim (kane-litas wedding). Two guys behind me kept talking about how mad they still were that jericho was the first undisputed champ, saying they would have accepted austin, rock, or even angle but not him. Also before the show outside, someone wondered aloud "who was little johnny?" (obivously meaning heidenreichs mystery of little johnny during his raw run in late 03. ) How is this stupid at all. Jericho's championship reign sucked.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 From not thirty minutes ago in the video store a few blocks away: three guys were looking at the WWF DVDs, & they were talking about how Jericho was the first Ultimate Warrior, but was too roided up so he got fired, cleaned up & due to the steroids shrunk "about a foot" as a result. The Warrior who came in in '96? Kerry Von Erich. I'm sure there was more to this exchange, but i left. Someone told me one once about how Brett Michaels was Shawn Michaels brother as well. I forget the story he told me though.

Jericho's championship reign sucked. It's stupid, because they thought Jericho wasn't deserving. Not that he wasn't used correctly.
Steve J. Rogers Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 "That's not real blood. They put fake blood in a pocket of goose skin and attach it to their forhead." Huh? That might be the strangest thing I've ever heard in regards to blood in wrestling. Why wouldn't we notice this attached goose skin? How is said goose skin attached? Super glue? Also, wouldn't perspiration cause for possible slippage of the "goose skin" or whatever (capsule, ect) and possibly cause hardway "accidents" Actually (and this when I was 7-8) I thought the Muta Scale/Crissom Mask stuff was "half movie blood" or something because a wrestler would blade early and later in the match you could only see a small, paper cut size gash on the forehead and I'd be "No way THAT much blood came from something that small!" Steve
Guest Stunt Granny Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 This one guy for some reason says that there have been two Undertakers in the WWF. The first one became Kane when the ''new'' Undertaker came in.
Guest Stunt Granny Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 I never set the record straight with this one kid who INISITS that Vince McMahon wasn't the owner of the WWF, Jack Tunney was.
LessonInMachismo Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 <<Worst wrestling related conversationd you've heard>> How about anything the media produces? "The Rock is a white supremacist skinhead." "She's a stunt granny!" Here is my question...where in the hell did they get the idea that they hand out signs at shows? Did WCW do that or something?
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 WCW handed out signs quite often during the mid 90's (especially ones plugging Hogan that looked professionally made). I've heard rumors they hired people to cheer and boo in the front rows, but that's always debatable.
Celtic Jobber Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 I've had a couple of bad wrestling conversations recently... My cousin's husband hates Molly Holly and says she is the worst women's wrestler ever (he means actual talent-wise, not her character). He was really pissed when WWE released Jazz, Jaqueline, Gail Kim, ETC. instead of releasing Molly. I told him she is technically the most talented woman on the roster and he basically laughed it off. Another dumb conversation I had recently was with my neighbor who swears the Rock came out of the closet as being gay recently on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. I told him the Rock is just playing a gay part in his latest movie, but the guy claims Rock also came out in real life.

I know WCW had signs which told the fans who to boo and cheer on their old syndicated Worldwide show when it was taped at the Disney/MGM studio. I'm not sure if they handed out signs though.
yankovic fan Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 During the Raven/DDP feud in 98 or so, "Raven and DDP are brothers and Jake the Snake is their dad." Damn high school kids.

Why wouldn't we notice this attached goose skin? How is said goose skin attached? Super glue? I said the exact same thing to them. But of course, it HAS to be fake blood, because it's IMPOSSIBLE that they would ever do anything even remotely close to real, right? RIGHT? People will believe the dumbest things before they will believe that wrestlers actually do get hurt.

The reason they think Rock was coming out, was a slip rock made during the interview on ellen. They showed this on best week ever on vh1. Rock was going through the same spiel that he has on every showing hyping the movie, talking about being fearless in taking challengeing acting roles. then he said something about playing gay and accidentily slipped and said something (damn i cant remember now) wrong while saying it, implying that he was gay. what is up with all these people thinking there were different takers and warriors?
Vern Gagne Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 Whenever Hogan or Flair's name is brought up to non-fans, it's either how old are they. or isn't he dead?

River City Rocker Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 Here's one I overheard in the breakroom at work tonight: Apparently, Glen Jacobs died at some point, so WWE hired a new guy to play Kane. How could they tell? "This new guy was bald, and his attitude is worse. The 'old' Kane wasn't bald!" That's definitely a new approach. Usually, it's the Ultimate Warrior who "died" and was "replaced". These guys also happen to know that Indianapolis and/or Evansville, Indiana are being considered for the site for next year's WrestleMania. At that point, I had to leave before I started yelling at them. -Ben

Explaining blading to someone that doesn't watch wrestling much is like explaining to a smark that HHH doesn't really hold talent down, and just deserves to be the top guy. No matter how many times you walk them through it, they won't believe you.
Steve J. Rogers Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 what is up with all these people thinking there were different takers and warriors? Well Mark Calloway has changed his apperance quite drastically through the years Lets see: First Taker: Short permish red hair, full red stubble beard Modified (I guess around the Royal Rumble "death"): Long straight dark hair that pretty much stayed shoulder length and during these years he'd alternate from goatee, clean shaven, and even the goat sans mustache. This is probably Mark's longest run with the only changes were Taker's costumes. Biker Taker/Return to the Dark Side: Current Taker is simply sans dye in the hair, same lenght though and with a red goatee Warrior, not sure. Helwig never really changed his apperance at all, bigger of course but nothing that would almost make him a different person the way Calloway has Steve
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 The Warrior rumors came about because the WWF, during his title run, were regularly changing his hair, his facepaint and even the color of the WWF Title belt, in an attempt to find some sort of look that would catch on with people.

They handed out signs? I was one of the few that actually paid for tickets too, and I remeber them trying to make it looked crowded so telling everyone to scoot forward, so I went from like the middle of the place up to row 9 or 10 but I never saw them handing out signs.

Rock said that he and the character he played in Be Cool had a lot in common and listed a few of the things including that they were both strong gay men. He then realized what he said and gave the people's eyebrow or something to that effect.
Vern Gagne Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 Ultimate Warrior and Vince McMahon were lovers.
