I have a question.

I finally convinced my mom to get DSL, after the crappy 56K service, and their limitations on it.

Now, the newest plan is that with a one year commitment, you pay 29.95 a month, and they give you a modem and wireless router. What I JUST realized is that I don't have an ethernet card installed. Would Verizon supply me with one? I remember that my friend was getting DSL, and Verizon sent him one, but I believe at extra charge. OR, is it better just getting one from the stores?

Yeah, I just noticed the prices. For some reason, I thought an ethernet card was expensive. My friend has one that Verizon gave him. Hopefully, that one works or something.

They gave me a converter ethernet-USB converter. It suppose to be a bit slower, but in the week I used it untill my Nic came in, I didn't notice much difference.

The modems that Verizon DSL give out now are pretty cool

It's the DSL Modem, with Wireless, and it's a router at the same time. It has 4 ethernet plugs on the back of it, and of course the wireless antenna. Pretty damn useful.

I was supposed to have my Service Ready Date for today after 6PM, but some automated voice thing called and told me they delayed it until April 4th.....bastards...
