Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 Cena needs to go back to his old music badly. This doesn't even sound much like any gangsta rap I've heard on the radio(I work in Best Buy, there's no way to avoid it) what with the horns and all. MikeJordan23 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 John Cena's song is dope. And that sounds like Lil Fame at the beginning. *shrug* Somewhat entertaining SmackDown, surprisingly.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 Spoilers looked like crap, but the tag title match was fun (but short), and most of the segments really clicked. Entertainment over wrestling tonight, definitely, but good build towards Mania.
Guest krazykat72 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 "I put on good matches." "fuck you, I'd rather win you pansy.' Calling himself Mr. Wrestlemania should be based on both record and performance. His record is flawed, and his only performances that stand out were for WM X and WM XIV. You do realize that this is worked right? and contrary to the opinion you'retrying to force, his performances at XX, XIX, and XXII all stand out too. -Paul Jacobi-
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 25, 2005 When did WM XXII happen? OK, I know you meant XII, but how is a 35 minute period of useless wristlocks and headlocks a good performance? WM XIX - Overated. Also the fact the wrong guy went over is still annoying. WM XX - It was Benoits night to shine, not Shawns, so of course he has to bust out a moonsault to the floor on both guys 4 minutes into the match.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 Well, that was one of the best WWE shows that I can remember that was more entertainment focused. Yes I know they focus on entertainment all the time, but you know what I mean. This week it was totally obvious that it was more about the talking than the wrestling, and it wasn't that bad. Heck, it was better than many of the times they focus on wrestling. I actually marked for Cena a few times, which is just about a first. I still want him to job to JBL, but for a few seconds I actually could stand the guy. If they could only fix up his gimmick a bit more, and he might be someone I could start to like. JBL continues to prove to me why I enjoy his work so much. I just love his character, it's perfect, he is just perfect like this. His facial expressions, the way he acts, just everything about the character is perfect. The guy even rules on the mic in my opinion. I never would have guessed he was that great on the stick. I can't remember the last time a guy was so perfect for his gimmick, a guy that was so into it that you actually bought it hook line and sinker. The only ones that come close in my mind are Austin and the ORIGINAL Mankind. Like JBL's work in the ring or not, I don't see how people can't either just flat out love the guy (at least for his character and his work with the character) or hate the guy so much, that you love to hate him. I about died with Kurt Angle was singing and he got to the part where he said "I've got gold medals!!!", that was fantastic. I even enjoyed the segment with Luther and TBS. A nice way to promote for TBS's match without the other guy being able to be on the show. While I wish the build for Rey/Eddie was more, hmmm, in depth, I do like what they are doing so far. I have a feeling that we are really going to see something special in that match. Both guys will more than likely be going all out on the night of the big show, and could possibly totally steal the show. It was nice to see Sherri back for a night, and say what you may about her, I've always been a fan of hers. She may be older, but I'd rather see her on WWE TV than most of those cookie cutter broads they have on WWE TV these days. I didn't even mind Taker's deal, and I usualy despise when that happens. I guess I just didn't care about the match taking place, so whatever. All in all, a perfectly fine pre-Mania show. You have to expect this type of thing at this time of the year. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 My time is now sounds better than Word Life, basic thugonamics. It's part of the main event leap. I like the new song. And Smackdown! once again...is good. Eddie, Rey, Carlito, JBL, Cena, Reigns, and Angle make this show worthwhile.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 Sherri could come back and manage someone full time. Maybe Dupree. He's in need of something new. Oh, and speaking of Dupree: I find it funny that he was the chosen sacrifice by Taker...due to the fact that Dupree was a guy he hasn't beaten in their one match they had (double count-out during the tournament)
Taker666 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 Triple H put down JBL and Cena in his little promo on Raw, Let me just say how great it was to see JBL strike back at him in the debate segment. that was awesome. refering Raw as that "other show" and Triple H as that "other Champion" was great. this has more to do with being sick to death of Triple H holding that damn WCW Title while being impressed with JBL every month as Champion. If JBL retains, I wouldn't mind. but Triple H needs to loose that fucking Title already. again, good job by JBL. Overall, for a show with little wrestling in it. it was a damn good show all around. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 Yeah, JBL giving HHH in a way a taste of his own medicine was great. Plus the line about the only thing that being a 10 time champion meant to JBL was that Triple H lost the belt 9 times.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 I'm starting to think that after Batista beats HHH for the title, and yes I think that's really going to happen, that HHH will really be traded/drafted to SD this year. HHH/JBL could bring something new to SD, and any of the top guys from SD over to RAW could be interesting. I know many say HHH wouldn't allow it, but I do think it's possible. Well, I wouldn't allow it. SmackDown! is better off without Triple H there. I don't wanna see 20 min Triple promos every week and I definlly don't wanna see Triple H hogging to WWE title the way he did the World Title sence SD! has had better Champions than him in the past. Also, thats mean Triple H will bump JBL as the top heel on SD! which would totally suck. JBL is much better in that department that Triple H is. Triple H on Raw is one of the reasons why I perfer SmackDown! over Raw.

Ced 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 The HBKurt schtick was hilarious up until the serious Shawn Michaels montage brought it down. Kurt would've been my undisputable hero had he put on the long hair wig and superkicked Sherri or one of the officials after the montage, but for what it was, he's my hero nonetheless. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 they should have busted out the original all sherri sung version of sexy boy. otherwise angle did a great mocking of shawn, right down to making sherri kiss his cheek then throwing her down while he did his pose. great stuff. Guest slmon Report post Posted March 26, 2005 I agree that Old Stone Face Shawn's appearance brought things down quite a bit from the high that Martel and Kurt engendered. When I compare pre-back injury Shawn to current Shawn, it seems as if he was given a lobotomy. His personality, charisma, star presence outside the ring...all gone. Guest FromBeyondTheGrave Report post Posted March 27, 2005 They're doing a horrible job of pushing Luther Reigns...losing to Mark Jindrak, then Booker T, and then beat up by Big Show. Michelle McCool sucks.
Guest Deadbolt Report post Posted March 27, 2005 The only way to save Reigns is imo for him to play his role as an ex-com seriously... like Waylon Mercy. Someone who is bitter, and of course, with the right feuds that wont last 1 PPV.

TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2005 Hands off the merchandise! That was hilarious, when he just snuck that in at the end. When he came to the ring, his facial expressions were 100% spot on, every single thing. I wouldn't have thought it was possible to copy someone's moves 100% but.. there you go. Now, who's going to say they're building to the match the wrong way, like every time two great wrestlers take a comedic route?
