MLB needs to build stars

Recommended Posts

Sort of off-topic, but what's Lennox Lewis? African-British?

Someone who's family got sold at the wrong stop.

Let's just call them all brown people.

Albert Pujols could be one of the next omega-stars like Barry. And even though they're Mets, I think Jose Reyes or David Wright will blossom into stars, too.

why hasnt anyone mentioned Adam Dunn? If you want a white superstar, there you go. the man hits 45-50 homers a year.

he's a great guy, clearly roid free.

It almost seems baseball players dont have the marketable personalities of athletes from other sports. Shaq, TO, and Lebron are everywhere. Shit, even Tom Brady hits up Victoria Secret parties. When NBA and NFL players party we hear about it. They're in movies and reality tv shows. MLB needs to expose their players beter to the public. They're kinda boring.

Those are flashy guys though. I mean, MLB players are just different. Nobody really cares what party Curt Schilling attended over the weekend, or what Holywood starlet Hank Blalock was mingling with at the club on Friday, or what kind of rims Ben Sheets just got on his new ride. The only player on that level of mainstream "popularity" is Derek Jeter, but he's hated by too many baseball fans.

MLB needs hip-hop artist like Usher and Lil Jon to be wearing throwback David Justice jerseys along with Braves caps, or have Eminem start wearing Alan Trammel jerseys, or Nelly wearing Jim Edmonds jerseys.

The only "hip hop" star ive seen recently wear baseball uniform is Nelly with the St. Louis jersey in his original videos
