I'm really looking forward to the Sunday night game against Eli Manning. Even AJ Smith (Chargers GM) is looking forward to it. He had this to say yesterday: "We had been singled out," Smith recalls. "The most amazing thing was when he (Eli) said he wouldn't play for the San Diego Chargers. He shouldn't have said anything, but when he said that, it's a heavy thing to say, something he will have to carry throughout his career. He'll have to live with it. Maybe Steve Foley and Randall Godfrey (Chargers linebackers) will remember him."
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 15, 2005 Like Vitamin said, As long as Green stays healthy and doesn't fumble and force the game in Favre's hand, Our offense is probably one of the best in the NFC but our defense is defnitely the worst in the NFL. It's far from the worst in the NFL, but under the right coaching (which has certainly been fixed with the hiring of Jim Bates from Miami as D-Coordinator) they should have a decent enough defense to give their offense chances to score. The year before with Ed Donatell they were something like 14th in the league in terms of yards, but were up there in sacks and takeaways, so they did their job well in that aspect. Bob Slowik was a complete disaster for the defense, not to mention the Mike McKenzie fiasco. As for the Chargers, they look like they have a tough schedule, but they won the big games they had to pull out last year. The playoff loss (which came as a result of a missed FG in OT) was not too surprising, but they battled back against a rather more experienced ballclub. Best game of the postseason in my opinion. A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2005 Chicago's also guaranteed an offensive star with the 4th pick in the draft. Yeah, and their track record at drafting offense is stellar. Curtis Enis was just a figment of our imaginations.

FOX Some tough games this year, so hopefully everyone can stay healthy. I wonder why they removed the Saturday night game against Atlanta from the schedule, I thought that was an annual event. Guess CBS got mad that a Saturday game on ESPN was more exciting than any Monday Night Football game they had all year. Nov. 27 against the Bills should be a really interesting game, two teams that were surging at the end of last year. At best I would think we could get atleast ten wins out of this year, possibly twelve if we finally get Michael Vick under control.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 16, 2005 What disappoints me about the Packers defense is the quietness of KGB and Grady. They need to step up a little bit more next year. KGB is a glorified 3rd down pass rusher. Jim Bates says he's going to try to mold him into Green Bay's version of Jason Taylor (another undersized end who plays big), but I just can't fathom KGB playing that well against the run. Grady got hurt last year and the run defense improved significantly with him. Cletidus Hunt has been a tremendous disappointment, and really just another one of Sherm's goofups in drafting. He's only drafted 2-3 decent defensive players (Barnett, Diggs, and there's Carroll who showed flashes of being solid last year), and one all-star on offense (Walker).. Hope that improves with Ted Thompson as GM.
packwingfn 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2005 I know this means nothing to the context of your last post. But I have KGB's Autograph. My friends Uncle was staying at the same hotel as the Packers when they played the Eagles in preseason a few years back ('02?), and He was in the elevator and got KGB and Ki-Jana Carter (packer preseason pickup)'s auto. At the time, I didnt really know who the heck KGB was as it was only his 2nd year but I picked up his jersey after that. So I guess thats why I want more in KGB but whatever. That's still pretty cool though, KGB strikes me as a decent fellow, I just haven't been too happy with the production he's put out in accordance with the fat contract Sherman gave him. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2005 Just saw this blurb about the upcoming season: based on last year's records, The Dolphins have the toughest schedule for 2005. As for the 2 SB teams, NE has the 3rd toughest, while the Eagles have the 3rd easiest.
