Roddy Piper signs with the WWE

Recommended Posts

At a launch event for the Celebrity Wrestling TV Show, Roddy Piper claimed that he recently signed a five-year deal with World Wrestling Entertainment.

At this point, no confirmation is available about a potential deal with Piper, and it's not as if wrestlers have not made erroneous claims about possessing contracts in the past. However, Piper is definitely on the record making the claim.

He also stated that he will be filming a movie in China and doing a show in Las Vegas, so an on-air WWE return is not at all imminent.

This website will feature more on this story in the coming days.

Maybe he will have some sort of backstage job like Ted DiBiase and Ricky Steamboat.

So... how will he screw up his latest contract, go into Chinese cable talk show and explain how wrestlers need a union and how the WWE is the scourge of all wrestling promotions, with Vinnie mac being the Devil. And then promote TNA?

Piper could still have a great role as a manger if used properly. Theirs alot of guys who could use him as a mouth piece.

Pipers Pit>>>>>>>>Hightlight Reel

For that matter, Piper on the mic>>>>>Jericho on the mic

Taking it a step forward- Piper>>>>>Jericho

And finally, They Live>>>>>>Anything Jericho has ever done in the entertainment purpose.

It pretty much has to be the standard five year deal that everyone inducted into the Hall of Fame this year signed and that the Honky Tonk Man just passed on. No way in hell WWE would sign Piper to a five year deal as a wrestler or on air personality, especially when the standard to give people like him (Flair, Hogan, Okerland) is a three year deal. WWE gives all of the Hall of Fame guys anywhere from $10,000 up for full use of their name, footage and likeness for five years. The new Observer says that WWE has no plans for further use of Piper anytime in the near future either. It has to be just the standard Hall of Fame contract that he is talking about.
