iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2005 I just wanted to say that the last few episodes, (since Trey came back) have been way better. They were falling into this rut where they were all just a bunch of boring kids who sat around and played video games, but now they're actually doing stuff again, and it's really interesting. I will say that if Trey really took the fall there when he didn't do anything, then that's just incredibly stupid. Risking a lengthy jail term for drugs when you're already on probation so that Marissa doesn't have to spend the night in jail? STUPID!
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2005 Yeah, I figured that when it first happened. But why was Ryan looking at her tattoo when he found her? Were they just trying to let us know who had drowned? But I read the spoilers and will become obvious later why he did it.

Mole 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2005 I've tried watching this show a few times, but I don't like it at all. It just feels like a 90210 copy off so damn much.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2005 Go tvtome.com, the O.C. page, then go to the message board. The front page has some thread with them, or you can go to spoilerfix.com. But my memory is so twisted, I read spoilers and when they happen I forget and still shocked.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2005 You know, given that I've been working two jobs for a while and finally had them catch up to me, I haven't been posting as much as I'd like. I was going to dig up the old thread today to give my recent thoughts, but I'll put them here unless/until a mod merges the topics for us. I still tape every week, and last night I missed because I went out. I did wind up catching the last few minutes but need to see the ep as a whole. I agree the shows have gotten better with Trey's arrival, the rebuilding of the Ryan/Marissa relationship, and the disappearance of the "clutter characters" as I like to call them taking up the screen time, which made for some desperate TV attempts IMO (Sandy's affair, Marissa's foray into lesbianism). The stories have made sense and developed well, but for a few weeks it just felt like they were trying out new things for the sake of it, rather than go with the flow. Guest Big_Jay101 Report post Posted April 16, 2005 Next week looks really good though, with Kirsten possibly cheating and the search for the Exstacy dealer.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2005 Actually, I didn't think it looked as good as last week's even. I kind of liked that they could get good storylines without one of the Cohens possibly cheating the past few weeks. Also, the thing with the ecstacy just denies reason. It only makes sense if we eventually find out that Trey did give the girl ecstasy, because otherwise it's just stupid that he'd say he did. I mean really, what could they have done to Marissa? What if the girl just bought it herself before she even got to the party. If anything, that's one of those stupid threats the cops make when they get absolutely desperate. Guest Hass of Pain Report post Posted April 17, 2005 I totally agree that the last two episodes have been awesome and for the first time this season, the show actually feels like the same OC that I loved so much last season. It's probably because they are taking Trey and pretty much plugging him into repeat Ryan storylines from last season, but after the first half of the season thus far it is a huge breathe of fresh air. Trey is a great character and I like him as much as any new character that they have ever added, and I am hoping that he will be around for a while. It looks like they are hinting at a possible thing between he and Marissa later in the season, but I could be reading too much into things. I don't know if Kirstin will cheat on Sandy or not, but if she does Sandy needs to IMMEDIATELY find that ridiculously hot blonde lawyer who wanted his goods last season and do her a few thousand times. I am loving the direction this season seems to be going, and all that is needed now is a full time return for Jimmy Cooper and Luke, a permanent departure for Zach and as much Caleb as humanly possible. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2005 I just love how the crazy Melrose Place elements (Let's kill your husband...porno...deaths in pools...) are mixing so well with the 90210 elements again. I grew up on both shows simultaneously, so I will forever love this show. Get rid of Zach, ASAP. Lindsay is gone, which is great. God, replace Zach with Luke, write some interesting stories (the comics shit needs to go), and the show will be back up to "great" again.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2005 Trey has/is developing a crush on Marrisa, but she doesnt feel that way about him. I hate when girls do that. I think Trey is gonna leave cause of that. Kirsten has feelings for Carter and he is gonna give her a bracelet when he leaves and she will be in a bar drinking with the bracelet on the bar and the bartender goes "Miss someone in your life" or something, and she goes "I used to" and touches her wedding ring and leaves, with the bracelet on the bar. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2005 Getting rid of Lindsey was huge. She was draining the life out of the show bit by bit. I actually find that I don't mind Zach as much now that she's gone, as I kind of feel like my resentment of Lindsey was rubbing off on him as another new character. And quit tempting me with those spoilers, damn it. If I wanted to ruin the show, I'd go search for them myself.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 I have to say that the whole "busting the drug dealer" subplot didn't do much for me. The whole thing's just stupid, that Trey would cause all that trouble for no reason. Also, the idea that the girl that passed out and went to detox didn't get a second look from the cops kind of bothered me too. In general, I'll be glad to put the whole thing behind us. I still have high hopes for next week though. Marissa's needed a real man for a while, and I think Trey will fit the bill better than Ryan. He's been doing this sulky bullshit forever, and it's wearing kind of thin.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Thoughts: I believed Caleb was gonna try and off Julie or something as he suddenly "gave her another chance". This went nowhere, didn't even get to see them go out to dinner. The whole "passing out fliers for private party/having this party/guestlist/Hunt for E-Dealer" thng was lame. I like how they tease Ryan/Marissa hookin' up for months. And when they decide to the show just ends with no follow-up. The Trey/new dumb blonde dealer thing is stupid. In all, a confusing and silly episode.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 I just want to say that the double episodes tonight have been orgasmically awesome. These characters that have been one-dimensional for two-thirds of the season are finally getting fleshed out again. It's not over yet, so I can't go on too far, but I'm absolutely loving this.
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 That combined two-hour episode was probably one of the best ever. Whoever said that the "Melrose Place" elements are blending in nicely was spot on because there was a total MP vibe to the show tonight (Ryan hiding behind the wall watching Trey leave Marissa's was pure MP). What's funny is that I don't think the first episode would have been nearly as good had it not been immediately followed by the second one. Together they were much stronger. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2005 Indeed. That last half hour was awesome. But why do they have to give such a big cliffhanger over the summer? What's going to happen to Marissa? Is Trey dead? Inquiring minds want to know.

Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted May 20, 2005 Through the magic of television, he'll probably survive.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2005 I think it was a good cliffhanger, cause it wasnt really one. Marissa will get off on self defense, no way is she going to jail. Trey is dead. I wish people would accept it. Even if he isnt, he isnt going to reappear unless it is the last episode or something. And the reason the season wasnt like this is because it allowed everything to flesh out. Jimmie left for a reason. Kirsten was drinking wine in every episode for a reason. Seth came back in the first episode for a reason. There were 4 new characters for a reason. Jimmie leaving set up a Cooper rebirth and Caleb dying. Kirsten drinking wine every episode set up the alcholoic/rehab storyline. If Seth was gone for the first 22 episodes like everyone on here wanted, it wouldnt have allowed any Summer "me" time. Zack allowed for a good story between the 3. DJ and Alex were placeholders for Marissa before she got back with Ryan, and Trey came along and helped build the bridge for them to get back together. Everyone was complaining about nothing making sense and everything seeming to be written "WWE" (Tuesday before the airing) but through out the season, everything that happened had a reason for happening. Including Lindsey. She was Ryan's placeholder. And before you say "They didnt need placeholders. They should have been together since episode 5", there would be no drama that you are drooling over at this minute.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2005 G'damn that was a great finale...like usual it mixed in a few great laughs with the North Shore dig and of course Seth with the Oliver reference, heh
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2005 "You'd really like it on the North Shore." I did really like that line. The amount of clever stuff underneath the surface on that show is really incredible sometimes. I just feel like I need another 5 or 6 episodes or something. As great is this closing episode was, and as well as it tied everything together ("I spent the whole year trying to be something I'm not" almost gave me chills), it feels like we just needed more good TV like this, and we wasted too much time on boring freakin' Lindsay. Oh well, that's the problem with episodic TV, I guess. If they tried to work straight through without all this time to recharge their batteries, they wouldn't possibly be able to keep up this level of quality work for more than a year or two. AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2005 Those last few episodes were so great, I'm almost tempted to go out and buy the first season on DVD. Stupid Jewish soap opera. I've got to imagine if Tate Donovan and Amanda Righetti make their way back next season, some shit will go down between Julie, Haylie and Jimmy. Haylie isn't likely to let Julie have Cal's fortune and Jimmy without a battle. (Assuming Cal didn't change his will before he died.)
Angelus 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2005 wow ..The last scene absolutely unbelievable, pure gold. Someone knows the name of the song who was playing ?
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2005 That sort of 'I can't believe this bitch just shot me' look on Trey's face was just priceless. And with the blood on his face, along with the blood suddenly dripping down his shirt, it was just overall an awesome scene. And I just really loved his reaction after getting shot. This time of the year really does suck. I have to wait months for like every good show I watch to start coming on again. This, Smallville, Veronica Mars, hell, even the sort of reality shows like Amazing Race, and America's Next Top Model are over. And here's somethign someone posted at another board, for whoever asked about the music. I don't know if it's in order or what, so I don't know if the last song on the list is the last song playing, but yea..I guess it's one of these. Episode 24 - "The Dearly Beloved" * "El Manana" by Gorillaz - Buy Now! * "Crosses" by Jose Gonzalez - Buy Now! * "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap - Buy Now! * "You're Not The Law" by The Dead 60's - Buy Now! * "An Honest Mistake" by The Bravery - Buy Now! * "Hot Ride" by The Prodigy - Buy Now! * "Friends" by Ryan Adams & The Cardinals - Buy Now! * "Twenty Two Fourteen" by The Album Leaf - Buy Now! edit- Ok, just downloaded and checked, and the song in the final scene was "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap
