Superfly Snuka 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I'll make this short. Although we all know Batista is over big time and has a great look, he certainly does not have the verbal skill to cut decent/captivating promos. I think for batista to stay viable as a legit main eventer, he'll have to cut great promos so the fans buy into the WWE and into him as a champ. What I think he needs is a manager only to be a mouthpiece for him...exactly like heyman was for Brock Lesnar when he first came in. It was more believable/more intriguing to be an unstoppable monster who didn't speak but was menacing/intimidating with a manger hyperbolizing about his greatness. Eventually, after this feud with HHH is over, he'll need to carry the feuds physically and verbally. What do you think (guess this wasn't as short as I thought)? Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted April 19, 2005 No, they need to stop bringing guys like Hogan and Austin onto every show to overshadow the guy. His promos are just fine. Better than Triple H pausing after every three words during his promo.
Guest PimpDaddySarp Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Ric Flair would be perfect I think, built in story on how they were Tag champs and that's when Batista really started improving, as he was learning from the best. Of course that would require Ric to remove Triple H's cock from his mouth.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Batista is fine on the mic. He's calm, he's relaxed but his style is he is just so loose and relaxed he doesn't need to talk. He does his talking in the ring and it fits his character perfectly. The last thing Batista needs is a manager. He's standing just fine on his own two feet right now. krease 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I think Batista sounds fine on his own - when given a chance. For the three shows after Wrestlemania, he hasn't had much of a chance to do or say anything except for the "victory" interview last week...
tbondrage99 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Benoit isnt the best on the mic either but I dont recall anyone saying he couldnt stay viable as a legit main eventer. Batista is fine.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Batista needs better content. What he should say: "I'm big, I'm strong, and I can fucking kill you whenever I want" What he does say: "You know, I really respect you... best ever... used car dealer har har.." Superfly Snuka 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I don't think he needs a manager at the moment but i thyink eventually he will need one or he'll become Chris Benoit like ; won't be able to stay Champ because while good/eventually great in the ring, he won't sell merchandise, etc. (which is why I think Cena, though not nearly as good a wrestler, I think will stay in the title picture for a longer time than Batista)
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I saw quite a few Batista shirts for a guy who isn't moving merch. The reason Crippler never sold anything is because his shirts were beyond ugly and stupid. Cena has decent shirts, Batista's current shirt with that blade like B is actually pretty tight looking and the crowd is definately buying into him right now. The only thing that can screw up Batista is the WWE right now. If they write him some solid interviews and they don't try to alter his character in a stupid way then Dave could actually be the flagship face of RAW with Cena being the flagship face of Smackdown. Guest PimpDaddySarp Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I would agree that I think Batista is good enough to stand on his own on the mic, but its obvious WWE will never let it happen. I don't see his "breakthrough promo" coming any time on the horizon. I still can't believe (well i guess i can) they never had him bring up how he was in on Hunter's plan the whole time leading up to WrestleMania. That caused irreparable damage to his character. jester 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I agree. Batista is fine on the mike. Of course, we have to draw on our memories here, since they have barely had him on TV since Wrestlemania.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 They should have Trish manage Dave. She oughtn't be wrestling too much now, and she's so just...over, she needs to be near the main event.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Batista definitely doesn't need a manager. If you remember, he actually got over on his charisma more than anything else. All they need to do is find a couple clever things for him to say every week or two, and they'll be fine. Actually, I'm guessing that tonight's MSG Raw popped the biggest rating they've had in a long time.
