kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Jesus Christ, I step away for half a day and my Pope thread turns into this. If I may backtrack a few pages, I LOVED this condescending quote: We both seem to have chosen careers fitting to our talents. Mine is shaping the minds of the youth of America. Yours is working for a cell phone company. Too bad if it wasn't for the dumbo's working at places like cell phone companies you wouldn't be able to shape the minds of the youth of America, unless of course you work at a private school (not sure if you do) that doesn't rely on taxes. Mike calls the second largest religion in the world a "death cult" and all he gets are a couple of moderately worded replies. Here's the reason: You started that thread. Regarding Mike's quote, hell, I didn't even know he said it. I don't read half the things he writes when fighting with other posters at this place. Within this folder, I generally only engage in discussions with people I either can learn something from, or who I feel can learn something from me. So who's learning from who in our case? Oh, and Slayer, have we gotten any resumes regarding our Professional Otaku opening? I'd check on the incoming applications, but I need to thaw out a bit after reading this... I know if anyone ever shot YOU in the back, I'd say "Praise Jesus".

Yes, because schools couldn't exist with cell phone companies, but cell phine companies could exist without public education. Right. So who's learning from who in our case? Well I'm learning from you, of course! Actually we don't converse that often. I read your stuff for the comedic value, which is usually pretty good.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Yes, because schools couldn't exist with cell phone companies, but cell phine companies could exist without public education. Right. Government schools couldn't exist without the taxes generated from business and the ignorant Joe and Jan Six-Packs that work at these businesses. And some of these places include "phine" companies (OMG SPELING/GRAMMER MISTAKE U R STOOPID~~~!). You know what I was talking about, hippie. Well I'm learning from you, of course! My n*gga. Of course, the toast would depend on what exactly you are learning from me...

Yes, because schools couldn't exist with cell phone companies, but cell phine companies could exist without public education. Right. Well, we do better without it. We can't openly discriminate against people with public education in their background, but they're never a first option. We want OUR employees to actually know how to read and all. Public education is real spotty about that. Now, private education --- that is where people who know how to teach go. -=Mike

Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 I'll make a brief cameo here and make a non political statement. I had a shot at going to a Catholic school, but instead I went to Boston Latin, one of the best schools in the country and yes, a public school.

Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Catholicism is not actually against sex being pleasurable. Sex was created for the context of marriage, and is supposed to be bringing a man and a woman together. However, it does feel good and that is a good thing. It's pleasurable, but that's not it's only purpose. It should feel good but it should be more than that. The whole point of making it feel good is so that it would not be a problem for married people to have sex. But it is supposed to be physically enjoyable in addition to all the spiritual stuff. That's Catholic doctrine. I'd link some stuff, because it seems that some of you have a misinterpretation about the way the Catholic Church does things. I know I did before my philosophy course in the 12th grade. Sadly, I was a Catholic for fourteen years of Catholic School without really knowing what that meant. Once I found out, I stopped calling myself a Catholic. Non-denominational here.

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Now, private education --- that is where people who know how to teach go. Once again, you demonstrate that you don't know what you're talking about. The pay and benefits at private schools suck, so most teachers would NEVER want to teach at a private school. People who do go into private education because they know they'll have an easier time (i.e. less discipline problems, easier to kick kids out if they screw up, parents more involved since they're paying for it directly....not to mention the abundance of corperal punishment at many Catholic Schools). Private school tend to get better results for those reasons (less discipline problems, easier to kick kids out if they screw up, parents more involved since they're paying for it directly), and because they're populations tend to be better off socioeconomically. Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Yeah! Suspiciously busty 13 year-old girls! Actually, Osaka(the girl in my avatar) is a high school student and considered among the "Japanese" of the group in the animeie she's relatively under developed, see the anime Azumanga Daioh for an explaination. Here's a profile. and here are some more pics
