kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2005 Jim Pinkerton deserves to be made fun of -- he shatters the myth of only pretty people getting on TV. Plus it takes him 5 minutes to make his point. Cal is just ... there. And I HATE Jane Hall because she has that smarmy "Well, you know..." tone when trying to defend anything Big Media does. It's funny that my favorite person on that panel is the commie... The Beltway Boys is another Saturday night staple. I like it because it's like watching grandpa talk about politics. And those two guys don't waste one second in their short thirty-minute show. They jump right in after the opening graphic. What was really funny this past weekend was when they showed some clips from some lame commercial with a "Republican" putting Bush down about the filibuster and then both Barnes and Kondracke snorted and said, "Yeah, right." kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2005 I don't watch the BB's. I usually catch the "thumbs up/down" segment while waiting for OMG FAUX NEWS WATCH LOL2005...
LessonInMachismo 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2005 I like Heartland, too. Old John Kasich don't take no shit. The theme song is pretty catchy, too...
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2005 Jim Pinkerton deserves to be made fun of -- he shatters the myth of only pretty people getting on TV. Nah. That myth was shattered to smithereens back when James Carville started showing up on Crossfire.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2005 This isn't a documentary about the politician as much as it is about heckling. They didn't bring actors into the room to heckle for the camera or anything. In the end, this will all be forgotten about in 3 months, and when the documentary airs nobody will watch because it's on BBC4 and Brits don't like to look farther than BBC2 for entertainment. Those with the willpower to flip to BBC3 usually take their own life due to the boredom.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2005 You know what I think the best show in news is? Fox News Watch on FNC on Saturday nights. Try it some time. It's really good. Oh god, that's a hoot. Thanks, I needed it. Fox monitoring the subtle political implications of the media is like the fox (go figure) watching the chickencoop. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2005 Whatever. They have Neal Gabler, who I'm sure you have a poster of on your wall. Fear the beard...
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2005 Those with the willpower to flip to BBC3 usually take their own life due to the boredom. Agreed. Little Britain's pretty much the only programme on the channel I'd ever watch. EDIT: And to get back on topic...hecklers should be the least of Howard's problem. It's not like he could have much worse of a public image.

Would it be any less humorous on any other network? I think not. It would be less humorous on C-SPAN, but that's because C-SPAN is boring and unfunny as hell. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2005 I'll give you that one. But CBS or ABC trying to point out bias would be just as bad.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2005 What pundits do you enjoy? I liked Tucker Carlson the one time I saw him at least. Seems pretty knowledgable and unbiased for most things, and criticized both parties on different issues. Plus, he's got that fashionable bowtie.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 Depends on which Tucker Carlson you're talking about. Tucker Carlson on Crossfire was terrible. Tucker Carlson on shows that aren't Crossfire is decent.

LessonInMachismo 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 So...the points they make on Fox News Watch are invalid because the show is on Fox News Channel?
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 No, but listening to a bunch of Fox pundits talk about the media's political focus is like listening to Jake Roberts complaining about the amount of drugs in the wrestling business. The point is still a valid one, but lacks credibility coming from where it does.
LessonInMachismo 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 So...a news outlet with a show that makes valid points about political focus in the media, thereby making the network somewhat unique, lacks credibility? It's like saying that a restaurant with both an avid customer base and a large group of detractors is bad because the detractors say that of the five chefs the place employs, three of them are bad, so the whole place is bad...and that's assuming that the three chefs in question ARE actually bad. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 Don't bother debating this point, LIM. It's been pretty much established for years that the libs at this place will always put down OMG FAUX NEWS LOL2005 while the conservatives will always put down, well, anything else... Guest INXS Report post Posted April 28, 2005 I haven't even heard of this incident and I live in the North East of England. I don't think the heckling has altered anyone's vote.
