Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 I want to start editing this short film that a friend made, on my computer soon. But, I don't think that WinDVD or Movie Maker will cut it. Plus, I can't exactly fork out hundreds of dollars right now for Avid or Adobe Premiere due to needing to save up for the summer months. Anyone out there know of any good video editing software that's free/inexpensive?

Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted April 24, 2005 Author Report Posted April 24, 2005 Um...not to try and sound dumb, but I'm using the program now, and there's a bunch of options about cleaning up the video and stuff, but no effects at all. Am I missing something?
JJMc Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Perhaps he misunderstood you, thinking that by "editing" you wanted to convert to a new file format, encode, etc. Because I was under the impression that that's what VirtualDub was for. As for editing programs, I can't really help you. iMovie is quite good with effects and all, but it is only for Mac. Have you tried Windows Movie Maker? I haven't, but you must be able to do something in the way of effects, right?
Dimensions Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 I think you should use Bit Torrent to find you something. I suggest looking at products from Adobe, Ulead and Pinnacle. :-)
Yuna_Firerose Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 If you're speaking of 'editing' in terms of cutting between scenes, adding effects, transitions, music, etc etc, then Windows Movie Maker does all that. Play with it and you'll figure stuff out. Tis how I learned the program.
