The Political Compass

Recommended Posts

I got the exact same position on both graphs; horizontally smack dab in the middle, but a third of the way to the bottom.

That would be kinda cool if they followed the same criteria and the grids had the same axes, if they are not then we have firm proof that internet tests aren't credible.

For the second one, I'm a social moderate who leans to the left economically, that's almost the opposite of a libertarian, which I think the first one exposed me to be. Bah.

Economic Left/Right: -1.38

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.31

I guess I am in the same quadrant as Joseph Stalin, though closest to the dead middle. I'm not too surprised.

The well-known TSM leftists, for reference

Username: Econ Left or Right/Libertarian or Authoritarian

Rob E Dangerously: -3.25/-1.85

C-Bacon: -7.12/-5.18

RobotJerk: -5.38/-4.10

Smitty: -3.5/-4.41

Jobber: -4.63/-4.26

I am the least leftist of all them, and if I could search to find the previous compass threads, i'm sure my score now is slightly different than before

Geez. Dude. I mean, I got a pair of -3's when I took it, but christ, seriously, that's like hanging off the left wing. Like Simon Belmont in Castlevania inching 99% of his body weight over empty space and hanging on by his toenails. That's WAY close to falling over the edge.

Geez.  Dude.  I mean, I got a pair of -3's when I took it, but christ, seriously, that's like hanging off the left wing.  Like Simon Belmont in Castlevania inching 99% of his body weight over empty space and hanging on by his toenails.  That's WAY close to falling over the edge.

It rocks that you used Belmont in that metaphor.

I found a secret in Castlevania II. Instead of going to the left (no pun intended), I went to the right until I came to that pit with the land on the other side. It's not a jump that can be made. I think they intended it as a tease. But I found out that if you stand Simon on the very edge and, using a NES Advantage, press both A and B on turbo and put the stick in the 2:00 position, he will make the "jump." It's more like he just appears up there. I sent it in to Nintendo Power magazine at the time (1988?) but I don't remember them printing it.

They forgot to add a note at the bottom of the world leader graph:

"John Kerry's results omitted for clarity."

He could be on there multiple times with years cited denoting when those opinions were held.
