Lord of The Curry Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 That was me that said it. The term "heel" these days is objective, as the true heels are booed out of reasons that the fans don't have to give and for reasons that the WWE doesn't understand (ie. Lita).
Carnival Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 They must be full blown retarded if they don't know why Lita is getting booed.
Lord of The Curry Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 That cunt is gonna get crucified by the crowd this Sunday, sho 'nuff.
Carnival Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 That cunt is gonna get crucified by the crowd this Sunday, sho 'nuff. I would pay $34.95 to see that.
Vyce Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 They must be full blown retarded if they don't know why Lita is getting booed. They know, it's just that since it is a reaction that they themselves have not manufactured via their demeaning manipulation of the fans, they're at a complete and utter loss as to what to do about it.

Cherry Blossom Viscount Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Eddie still is one of the best heels. But as someone said earlier, he's just too good, and nobody wants to really boo him because of that. I guess no one heard the massive boos and "Eddie Sucks" chants, huh? That was the biggest heat of the night.

JJ Johnson Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 I guess no one heard the massive boos and "Eddie Sucks" chants, huh? That was the biggest heat of the night. I guess you don't realize Smackdown is taped, and they can pipe in all the booing and Eddie Sucks chanting they wish.
Promoter Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 I think the purpose of this heel turn is for Eddie to feud with Cena for the title. Eddie in kayfabe has lost his spark and drive to be the top guy by sticking in a tag team with Rey Mysterio. They are doing a slow burn for Cena/Eddie. Of course, this is assmuming both men will stay on the same brand.
Lord of The Curry Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Eddy/Cena has "Giant Fucking Disaster" written all over it. If there was ever a match where Cena couldn't afford to be booed, this one would be it because once Eddy fans get going they don't stop. Having said that, if they worked a Hart/Austin dynamic with the match and gradually had Cena resent the fans while Eddy gained their respect would be interesting, if not a pale comparison.

I guess those people in crowd that you could see chanting "eddie sucks" and booing were holograms.

Nope, just planted by the WWE, who haven't sold out an event since '97, and have been planting 1/3-1/2 of the crowd since.
Carnival Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 haha Wow, planting 1/2 the crowd. Must be quite the effort.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Eddie still is one of the best heels. But as someone said earlier, he's just too good, and nobody wants to really boo him because of that. I guess no one heard the massive boos and "Eddie Sucks" chants, huh? That was the biggest heat of the night. Let's see how long it lasts while Eddie is at the top of his game. If someone is too good at being a heel, especailly in today's climate, the fans might boo him at first, but they'll eventually start cheering him because of how good he is at what he does. Shawn was booed wildly at first, but after being one of the best workers in the company for long enough fans started cheering him. The list goes on and on of heels who, while booed like crazy at first, were so good at what they did the fans started cheering them.

It does have a chance of blowing up in their face, but they got to put Cena in there with stronger workers if they want him to be a top champion. I've heard HBK might also be going up against Cena and there's a chance Cena might get booed in that scenario too. The thing with Cena's character is that he's more suited to be a heel anyways and they could just turn him as champion. If they do that he'll probably just get cheered within weeks anyhow.
cabbageboy Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 My point about Eddie being conflicted is that a guy who is like "Gee, I dunno, should I turn heel or not?" doesn't draw money. The guy who just flat out turns heel is what draws. There should be some logic behind it (unlike say a Russo angle) but when it happens it just needs to HAPPEN. And yes, I agree that this Eddie turn basically has to lead to him vs. Cena at some point. I don't see the logic in Eddie going to Raw, he has unfinished Rey business and he's one of the few guys who could get anything out of Cena.
Guest MideonMark Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 I think another positive factor of this storyline is the prospect of a possible Guerreros vs. Rey Mysterio/Paul London match.
Vyce Posted May 1, 2005 Report Posted May 1, 2005 I think another positive factor of this storyline is the prospect of a possible Guerreros vs. Rey Mysterio/Paul London match. Absolutely. The inclusion of Chavo into the Rey / Eddie saga is the perfect catalyst for a tag match between the two groups. Hopefully, many, MANY tag matches.
Lord of The Curry Posted May 1, 2005 Report Posted May 1, 2005 That really is the best possible scenario for this whole angle. Have it branch off into mini-feuds and include other cruisers and midcarders.

Because '97 was actually before the hot period; even if your conspiracy theory was true, it wouldn't make any sense that that was when the sellout was.
