Guest OSIcon Report post Posted May 7, 2005 Orioles are beating the Royals 3-1. I gotta listen on XM because of the Wiz on Comcast Sportsnet...but anyway. Check the local cable station's channel. Sometimes the game is on elsewhere. Not tonight. It is a Comcast game tonight, not a Mid Atlantic Spots Network game. When that's the case (this season) and the Wizards are also have a playoff game, the game just isn't on at all. Happened Tuesday also. Only MASN games on the other stations. It seems completely ridiculous to me that the Wizards game is on Comcast Sportsnet and ESPN (which happen to be back to back stations on my lineup). Oddly enough, the game IS on in DC tonight since Comcast owns News Channel 8 and they just put it on there.

My cable service does not have CN8, but they'll carry the Phillies games as a courtesy. The one time they did not the game was carried by MSG, so that worked out. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 I think I jinxed the Jays' bullpen. Three runs in three innings against the White Sox, and they're now trailing by 2 in the 9th.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 Another clutch fielding play from a PROVEN~! Yankee. Cubs need to pick it up 'cause I don't know how long I'll be able to say, "well, at least they have a better record than the Yankees." But with stuff like this, who knows? Bored 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 Another clutch fielding play from a PROVEN~! Yankee. Pffft, The Jeter likes to show he's occasionally mortal to appeal to the common man. I'm happy the A's are winning (and I hope hold on) but god damn this has been an ugly last couple of innings of baseball. It's really painful to watch these two once great teams play so ugly. ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 The White Sox, in a game CC mentioned a couple of minutes ago, won 5-3 over Toronto. The field was a complete mess the entire night, with the dirt in the batter's box causing nearly half the batters, at one point or another during the evening, to slip and fall. AJ Pierzynski got the 2 RBI go-ahead single in the 8th, and Hermanson picked up his 5th save after El Duque pitched 7 innings, 6 of which were strong. Konerko also finally got out of his 0 for 26 slump, singling in the 8th. Jason

ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 It sucks that the Twins don't face the Sox until August. Three long months. I know, it's a very long time. You would think that they'd even out the division series a little more considering the unbalanced schedule exists, so it's more like one per month and less like 2 right away then 3 months off. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 Fred Hickman after Don Zimmer bitches about Steinbrenner. Biter...Party of One. Really though. Steinbrenner should be mocked, but why are Joe Torre, and Brian Cashman always left off the hook? Imo..Torre's lost it has a manager. Players lose something, why not managers? As for Cashman how great is he exactly? He didn't put the teams that won 4 World Championships together, and he basically given an unlimited budget to work with. T Joe Torre gets a pass because I have criticized the Yankees' failure to produce a complete team, and I wrote that their bench was among the worse in baseball. I can't fault Torre for failing to produce with absolutely nothing of value. As for Cashman, I think many of us assume that Steinbrenner is pulling the strings and Cashman is helpless to do anything sensible.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 I go back to some poor managerial decisions the last few seasons. Last year bringing in Javy Vazquez with the bases loaded. A pitcher who is struggling, and with little bullpen experience. Two years ago.Jeff Weaver had no business being in that game. He was horrible since he joined the Yankees, and an pivotal Game 4 the excuse of not wanting to overuse Rivera just doesn't fly. Three years ago. Game 7. Never understood why the Yankees played the IF in? Jeter goes in a few steps, he's still able to make the play on Gonzalez's blop hit, and can more than likely get the runner trying to score from home. Also, he should of been more careful in his use of Rivera that game. Remember the D'backs hit Rivera hard in game 5, and it took a very hard hit double play for the Yankees to get out of the inning. While Weaver had no right in the game, no one remembers the scoreless inning he pitched that game. Nobody remembers Aarone Boone striking out with the bases loaded and one out. Sure Weaver suckeed as a Yankee, but I still refuse to blame him for that game. Vern, who else were they going to bring in? Moose couldn't, El Duque couldn't, Quantril was shot, obviously not Mo or Gordon, Sturtze was shot, Heredia would have killed someone.
