Romero Not At Velocity Tapings..

Recommended Posts

I'm surprised at how many people don't bother to watch Velocity which was easily at one time the best bang for your time watching WWE tv.

Romero is improving quite well and with enough time and motivation he could be a solid announcer on any of the shows. Him and Josh play off each other well, however what is lacking is either good matches to call or lack of a heelish color commentator. Josh as Bobby the Brain Heenan 2.0 might have some promise, but he'll have to be on the PPVs to even try.

agreed, velocity is often better than sd most weeks.

I read the name wrong and thought this was about Romeo from the Heart Throbs.

Ditto. Thought for sure it was just a typo since it sounded just like he might do considering his building rep.

Does it matter much if he's not at the Velocity tapings? I thought that, even though the shows were taped in advance, that the announcers for the C shows just sit in briefly to shoot the transition segments, but actually do the commentary for the matches either Friday/Saturday in a studio, it's edited all together and there we have it.

I would like to see these announce teams in WWE...

HEAT - Coach/Al Snow (I don't even know who does it right now...)

RAW - JR/Tazz

Smackdown! - Cole/Matthews

Velocity! - Romero/Cole (or anyone really)

The only thing i hate about Tazz's announcing.

"Here comes the pain!" -when brock used to come out

"Wolverine's are gonna fly" - whenever benoit did the headbutt

other than those 2 phrases, I've always liked Tazz's announcing.

I don't think the King is as bad as everyone says he is. JR is worse.

Coach is also great, Cole is ok too.

ICP = best wrestling announcers ever.

Steve Romero "called in sick" to the Smackdown taping yesterday which got a lot of people talking backstage. Nobody in WWE realls "call in sick." Vince McMahon sets the example of working through sickness and pain and expects everyone to follow. A lot of the workers were upset that Romero, an announcer, called in sick while they can't despite taking bumps in the ring.

Oh, cry me a fucking river. It's looked down upon if you call in sick? This just reaffirms that McMahon and his wrestlers are a bunch of brats.

Sums up my thoughts, as well.
