Agreed. I may be one of the biggest Matt Hardy fans here, but I've always liked Edge in the ring and I will admit that I am enjoying the angle and Edge's push despite the fact that Edge and Lita's off screen actions were deplorable.

 

I also have posted at that board for a while, and God damn, there are some really annoying kids there.

Vince runs the show. Matt did something he shouldn't have, going public on his website and affecting characters & storylines that Vince created.

Exactly. Although I don't really agree with the second part, as I don't think its intentionally 'rubbing it in'. But I mean, what other choice did Vince have? (Other then possibly moving one to a diff show, but I mean come on, the women wrestlers, and yes lita is one..belong on RAW, and Edge just, currently fits RAWs storylines better). You got two people getting the same chants, because of Matt Hardy might I add, so everyone knows about the situation evidently, so why not just pair them up, to one, lower the amount of chants, because now it'll be during less segments, and two possibly end the chants..because who knows, next week it might be 'you screwed Kane'.

 

It doesn't seem like Vince, or creative or whatever are just trying to 'exploit' this situation, but rather...do what they have to do. Hell, IMO, Edge needs a character to play off anyways, sort of like Christian/Trish last year, so it might turn out good. Would this be as shitty a situation to people had it not been because of something that happened backstage? Because all backstage stuff aside, and the fact that people saw itcoming from a mile away, on a normal basis, wouldn't it be considered an 'interesting storyline'? (Even if it is Edge and Lita)

Ok how many of you are pissed off when JR scolded Lita "for cheating on her husband"? How short of a memeory does WWE think we all have? Hello Kane basically raped Lita and forced her to marry him against her will. But now we are supposed to buy them as a loving couple?

 

Though JR actually using the word "harlot" was pretty funny.

 

Man oh man did RAW suck or what? 20 mins of pillowfights and viscera.. I WANT MY 20 MINUTES BACK!!!!!!!!!

(In fact that was so boring I spent most of that time watching for updates of the Yanks game online.)

...Kane is currently a face. And before the turn last night was also. Kane has been a face pretty much since the wedding. Although he's been borderline, and somewhat of a "badass face" he's been face..As has been proven by, people cheering when he wins/wrestles.

 

edit- Oh, and not to mention being a face during the Brothers of Destruction days. And then after his return with the strapped costume when facing the UnAmericans and stuff. And also teaming with RVD, and Hurricane for a while. And then again when facing Snitsky...he's been face plenty of times since the Xpac story.

It's not really that we'd have that much reason to be shocked in kayfabe terms. It's obviously a tongue-in-cheek reference to Lita's real life harlotry. This whole storyline is basically an inside jab at Edge and Lita.

 

Oh, and doesn't it seem like the logical booking is for Edge to win the title next Monday? I mean, no one ever loses two falls in a row in WWE-land, and it would be a perfect way to set up a PPV rematch.

 

Obviously, we've seen the HIAC ads already for HHH challenging, but without knowing that, it seems like the logical step is for them to follow through on this push and give Edge at least a temporary run with the title.

Most of that can be "shades of gray". People cheer due to the fact that Kane now has character definition other than being Undertaker's weird brother and the guy that does random run-ins for no reason at all.

I still just can't see 'Big Goldy' on Smackdown. It'd be...not right. And yea, technically it was during the Undisputed time period, but I mean since the draft of course.

That's actually...a great fucking idea. Makes PERFECT sense. Especially if you leave Christian on RAW. Have Edge lose on RAW, jump Batista after the match, insert the clause while he's beaten down, and win. Then have the Edge/Cena swap happen on the very last draft night, with, as someone mentioned earlier, Christian being pissed about not being drafted. On the final pick, he sees Cena gets drafted to RAW, and gets happy about it because now he'll get his chance to take him out. Edge/Lita make their way on over to Smackdown, and can start with whoever, who cares, Edge sucks, but he'll have the World title, so they can find something for him. He'll have a fresh start as the champ, and who knows, being back around that "new breed" of main eventers'll do him some good, and he won't have to be concerned with looking "below" a guy like Triple H.

 

Easily sets up Triple H being able to come back and verbally blow himself over how right he was that Batista would fail as a champ, have him bitch about Batista losing HIS title, which eventually leads to the HIAC, which Batista could win, and maybe Flair turns. During that, Cena and Christian can fued for the WWE title, as an intro for Cena into RAW. It tightens up a lot of loose ends with HHH/Batista/Flair/Christian/Cena all in one shot, and based on how fans respond to Edge and Lita over these next couple weeks, they'll now be on Smackdown where they can edit those chants out.

 

As I'm saying that, I'd personally LOVE if fans, now seeing what went down, completely shut down on the chants and leave Edge and Lita heatless. It'd be hilarious, and a nice little fuck you back to the company. I figured they'd eventually turn Lita, and always thought it'd be funny if they did that to end all the thought that WWE could play off the Matt situation, and shift that heat into the characters of Edge and Lita. The fans giving no response to them now after all that time would just be hilarious.

 

After typin all that up now, after thinking about it, the main person that could be hurt here through all this is Cena. As much as I like RAW, the idea of him and Triple H being on the same show is a concern to me. With Cena's character, I doubt he'll be made to back down, but the two would run into each other, eventually, and the thought of his character being hurt in anyway could fuck things up. He's the future, and needs to be treated as such.

The only real 'burial' HHH did of Benoit, was having a non title match in the main event slot over Benoit when Benoit was World champ. And that isn't exactly a terrible burial..

Benoit's match with HHH was the game's last match on Raw, and as a result of his loss and Batista's decline of a challenge HHH was left at the tail end of the title chase.

 

Or at least thats whats supposed to be going on. Never know in the crazy world of wrestling where matches get flipped on their ear and events are stricken from the records.

Fuck Triple H for cleanly tapping at the WWE's huge WM 20 show and putting Benoit over for the World Title as confetti flew and the crowd roared.

 

And then for losing again at Backlash.

 

It led to the horribly buried Benoit having a successful DVD released that the fans loved.

 

And then that weak Benoit defeated HHH again on PPV.

 

And god damn Triple H for burying Benoit and cleanly tapping to him on Raw during the Iron Man and then losing that match, too.

 

Just awful.

 

The LONG TERM effects were devastating to Benoit! I mean, he went on to MAIN EVENT SUMMERSLAM...and then MAIN EVENT SURVIVOR SERIES...and then MAIN EVENT NEW YEAR'S REVOLUTION.

 

Plus Benoit had the unfortunate "job duty"...of making Triple H TAP OUT AGAIN a few weeks ago.

Benoit lacked charisma, so the focus was on the more hated Triple H. Who jobbed and jobbed to Benoit.

Well, for that time period, it kept him the World Championship.

 

That also helped him even MORE as being an actual 'threat' to the championship. For instance, last week or whenever, not just anyone gets that 'OH SHIT!' face from HHH. Benoit did. Benoit may not be in the highest profile program right now, but he's still a part of the 'high profile programs', just so happens to not be the world Title one. But he can't always be in the World Title hunt now can he?

There's a difference between "not making someone the biggest face ever" and "burying them".

 

Triple H helped Benoit much more than he hurt him over the last year or so. If you look at where Benoit was last January, and where he is now, it's obvious that he has a lot more respect as a main eventer, and he's much more over with the crowds.

 

Sure, if Benoit had a more well-promoted match at Bad Blood last year, it might have helped his title reign a little more. Perhaps, Trips could have elevated Benoit a little better.

 

But to say he didn't elevate Benoit is completely wrong. And to say that he buried Benoit? That's just fucking ridiculous.
