You been to any shows recently? GCW has been on its best hot streak of shows ever, IMO.

Add Saturday, June 25th in Mt. Vernon, IL to the schedule...wow, it's going to be a busy month of June.

(Cut-and-pasted from Friday night)

Tension was running high tonight at the Wild Acres Gym in Overland, Missouri...and the summer heat seemed to affect some people more than others.

The opening match featured Reid Reign taking on Super Castaldi, as Reign picked up his first GCW victory with the Reign Of Terror(belly-to-back suplex into a uranagi).

The scheduled tag team matchup was supposed to be Cabal and Gary J against Richard Head and European Legend Pierre, but Richard was conspicuous by his absence, leaving Sean Vincent to take his place. Big Bad Ben came out and gave Head a count of five to show up for his match, then fired him as head official on the spot, making Mark Hartland the new head official!

As for the match itself, it was a well-fought encounter between both teams, with Gary J hitting a huge frog splash off the shoulders of Cabal...as Cabal was seated on the turnbuckles! Pierre seemed to turn the tide as he dropped Gary J with an across-the-back neckbreaker. However, when Pierre tried to score the pin with feet on the ropes, Vincent knocked his own partner's feet off the ropes! Pierre protested this action and Gary J capitalized on the distraction with a rollup pin! Vincent and Pierre got into a confrontation post-match, resulting in Vincent shoving the "European Legend" down to the mat!

In a competitive rematch from Pointfest, Kevin X went up against Michael Serious. Kevin X worked on Serious' back with a vengeance, hoping to wear him down for the Pavement. However, Serious fought back with a vengeance, delivering his signature rolling German suplexes and nearly notching the victory with the swandive headbutt before Kevin X got a foot on the bottom rope! Serious attempted to go to the top again, but Kevin X caught him up there and drove him down to the mat with a thunderous Pavement off the turnbuckles! That was finally enough to put Serious away as Kevin X came away with the 1-2-3.

In tag team action, Chaz Wesson and Staunton(accompanied by Sindy) faced Shorty Biggs and Jackal(w/ Dr. Harvard Cornell III). While Shorty was popular with the fans in Overland for the most part, one notable exception was a large ringside fan who merely glared at Biggs when he looked for a high-five.

Despite that, the match was a competitive affair, with Shorty holding his own against some tough opposition and Jackal using his quickness and technical know-how to keep his larger opponents off their feet. However, size did matter in the end, as Wesson planted Jackal with the Pedigree, covering for the pin as Staunton cut off Biggs from breaking up the fall.

In another Pointfest rematch, Jynx took on Dingo, this time with the Light Heavyweight Title on the line. Jynx was all business on this night as he was intent on evening the score after suffering his first defeat since winning the belt, not to mention getting his jaw dislocated in that match. The aggression between the two (former?) friends was turned up a notch as both men went all out to win, with Jynx even taking a few shortcuts here and there. The two dished out the heavy artillery, just like at Pointfest...and as it turned out, the results was just like Pointfest as well, as Dingo planted Jynx with a DDT, then scored with the moonsault to win the Light Heavyweight Title for the second time!

Post-match, Dingo offered a handshake, but Jynx uncharacteristically walked away from the gesture. The tension between the two even spilled over into intermission, as Jynx sulked at ringside while Dingo took in the adulation of the fans. When Dingo got in the ring to lead the audience in singing "happy birthday" to a ringsider, Jynx jumped in the ring and blindsided Dingo with a chair out of nowhere! The former champion viciously beat down Dingo and locked him in the dragon clutch, with members of the locker room jumping into the ring to pull Jynx off Dingo. Jynx even shoved down recent tag team partner and friend Kory Twist on his way out of the ring! Dingo was assisted from the ring by the other wrestlers...only for Jynx to run out and attack him again with the chair! Chaos reigned leading into the second half of the show as fans were still trying to sort out what had happened so far.

In tag team action, D.N.S.(w/ Sadie Blaze) faced Rebecca Raze and Rian Cruz. Before the match, Blaze tore into the fans who had given him a standing ovation after his retirement match at the previous Overland show. He blamed the fans and even the GCW management for pushing him too hard while he was injured, leading to him being forced to retire from in-ring competition!

D.N.S. controlled much of this encounter, but Raze was able to tag in and clean house late in the contest, connecting with the Shining Raze and Crystalization(springboard clothesline) on Jimmy Charisma. However, as Sadie Blaze distracted the referee, Melvin Talent pulled Rian Cruz down from the ring apron, then jumped in the ring to deliver a modified spinebuster on Raze! Melvin put his partner Jimmy C on top of Raze and D.N.S. once again stole a victory!

Next up, Michael Strider went one-on-one with Nightmare Nick Tyson. Tyson used his agility to keep Strider off-balance, but Strider focused his attack on the head and neck area of Tyson with crushing suplexes. Tyson rallied with a flying shoulderblock off the top for a near-fall, but Strider countered a move in the corner and delivered his finishing Strider Spiral(inverted swinging neckbreaker) to get the duke.

In a fast-paced four-corner match, it was Sean Vincent vs. Dan Walsh vs. Steven Kennedy vs. Payday Patterson. Patterson wasted no time getting on the bad side of the audience, removing his ring robe to reveal some rather miniscule ring attire. It didn't help matters when his three opponents ganged up on him, yanking down his tights and each getting in their own chops on his bared posterior!

The action was hard to follow with four men fighting it out in and out of the ring, usually with two men on the floor and two men between the ropes. Kennedy dove onto Walsh and Vincent at ringside with a springboard plancha, then Payday launched himself onto all three with a moonsault off the top! Things broke down as Payday brought in a chair and leveled Walsh(as Kennedy had the referee tied up), but Vincent grabbed the chair away from Payday and threw him out of the ring. However, Vincent threw the chair out of the ring instead of using it, electing to plant Kennedy with the Manitoba Death Driver instead. He then put the dazed Walsh on top of Kennedy and looked on as the referee counted the pin for Walsh! I'm not sure what was going through Vincent's head tonight, but it was a "Slim Sexy" that I hadn't seen before...

Finally, GCW Heavyweight Champion Kory Twist defended the belt against Trent Stone. Twist's strategy was to work on the arm of Stone in an attempt to neutralize the newcomer's vaunted power arsenal, but that seemed to have little effect for a while as Stone threw the champion around the ring with ease. Stone even powered out of an early attempt at the Fate Factor.

Late in the contest, Stone seemed to have things going his way, hitting a running powerslam and a massive spear. Twist escaped a Stone Crush attempt, but Stone was able to slam Twist off the top rope and attempted the Stone Crush a second time. Twist again evaded the finisher and managed to maneuver his way into a second Fate Factor attempt, and this time he hit the move for the pinfall! Kory Twist overcame a tough challenge to once again hang onto the Heavyweight Title!

There are several GCW wrestlers who I think would do well on a larger stage. Just to name a few: Kory Twist, Dingo, Sean Vincent, and Jynx.

My first GCW show almost 2 1/2 years ago.....I could see the potential in Delirious. There was a lot of good unknown talent on the roster back then but he stood out. Matt was a spot guy to me. A lot of cool, aerial stuff and screamed babyface but seemed , to me, to be missing something. He's improved a lot since then though.

Other than Kory Twist and maybe OuTtkast, I don't get that "someone to watch for in the near future " vibe out of anybody at this point. Kevin X (Sharp) has the look and ability and I'm surprised he's never made more noise in the midwest.

There is some good, younger talent in GCW ...I'm not trying to belittle the current roster at all. I just don't see anybody beyond the couple I mentioned "breaking out" in 2005. There are a couple who I could see doing some things next year if they keep improving though.

*EDIT* And to add, Dingo and Sean Vincent could also get more attention with more exposure. Vincent is a tremendous heel but probably would need to put a little more weight on to get noticed. Dingo has worked in some other midwest promotions and I think even worked Wildside a couple times. I see him and Kast at a similar level but Kast has a more distinctive look and unique moveset, which is why I mentioned Kast before him.

I'm beginning to really like Nick Tyson. He's not home grown GCW.....I believe he's wrestled mostly in western Missouri/ Kansas. I know he wrestles for NWA Central States. He's been a regular the last few months in GCW though and he's very good.

OuTtKaSt and Delirious are the two guys I'd go to a show for. Assuming, of course, the show was at North Tech, cause I have no way of getting to the shows anywhere else...

Not sure when GCW will be back at N.C. Tech, as they seem to save that for the "big shows" like the anniversary shows.

Unfortunately Delirious hasn't wrestled for GCW since February of 2004 and OuTtKaSt is currently out of action as a result of the TLC match against Kevin X at the anniversary show in March. Not sure exactly when KaSt will be back, but the 90 days are just about up, I think...

Tonight looks like a strong show though...

Kast's 90 days should be up either this week or next. If he isn't eligible for Cape next Saturday, for sure by Mt Vernon, IL on the 25th.

Patterson gets a LH title shot after one friggin match in the promotion? A match he didn't even win? And Jynx , the former champ, is relegated to "also appearing?"

Wow.

And Ravenbomb, yeah, unless there is some sort of miracle, Delirious won't be back. Which sucks.

Recap below; as you can see, KaSt's 90 days are apparently up as he wrestled tonight.

Patterson was basically fortunate, as he was scheduled to face Dingo tonight before Dingo won the belt from Jynx. Since Dingo is a fighting champion, he was willing to put the belt up in the matchup with Payday.

Jynx was scheduled to face Richard Head, but of course Head got fired so that match was cancelled. I believe Jynx was also scheduled to fight Richard in Cape(and Rebecca Raze was scheduled to face Head in Mt. Vernon). As you can see, though, Jynx made his presence known.

-----

Gary J vs. European Legend Pierre: The two newcomers unloaded their arsenals on each other, including several high-risk aerial attacks by Gary J. However, Gary J went to the well once too often and missed a moonsault, allowing Pierre to hit his across-the-back neckbreaker variation to get the duke.

Shorty Biggs w/ Dr. Harvard Cornell III vs. Cabal: Biggs did his best to outmaneuver his larger opponent, using his agility and trying to take the legs out from under Cabal. Cabal turned the tide, but went for a rare move off the top and Biggs was able to roll out of the way of the splash attempt. Shorty followed up with an Oklahoma roll, holding Cabal's shoulders to the mat for the three-count!

Chaz Wesson entered the ring, complaining about not having a match for the night, but Big Bad Ben assured him that he would indeed have a match later in the night.

Jackal vs. Cameron Cage: Cage came out wearing a neckbrace, mocking the injury that Jackal had sustained at the previous St. Peters show, and an infuriated Jackal rushed out the entranceway to attack him on the arena floor. Each man attempted to focus on the other's neck; Cage to exploit the previous injury, Jackal in an attempt to exact revenge. Cage had trouble fending off Jackal's assault and barely escaped defeat when he got a foot on the ropes after the Killswitch #2. Jackal pressed his advantage and tried to finish with a small package, but Cage blocked the move and held the ropes to score a tainted victory.

Sean Vincent vs. Reid Reign: The people in attendance seemed to be adjusting to Vincent's more sportsmanlike attitude, and it showed in this match as the fan support was divided between the two. Reign made a strong showing for himself against the former Light Heavyweight Champion, planting him with a spinebuster and ascending the turnbuckles. However, Vincent avoided the incoming splash and dropped Reign with a Death Valley Driver for a near-fall. Vincent followed up with the Sexy Elbow off the top rope, scoring the clean victory.

Trent Stone vs. Kevin X: The fans were solidly behind Trent Stone in this battle of GCW's resident powerhouses. It was the proverbial irresistable force vs. the immovable object, and at time it seemed as though neither man would give an inch. Midway through the bout, Kevin X resorted to using a steel chair on the outside of the ring to gain the advange. Each man survived the other's finisher, with Stone kicking out of a delayed cover after the Pavement and Kevin X reaching the ropes to escape defeat after the Stone Crush. The two fought to hit their finishers again and Stone brought the chair into the ring, but Kevin X dropped him on it with a second execution of the Pavement, scoring the victory.

Chaz Wesson(w/ Sindy) came out for his match, which turned out to be a St. Peters Street Fight againt the returning OuTtKaSt! Hardcore-style implements of destruction were brought into play, but the match ended abruptly when Wesson uncharacteristically retreated to the dressing room area while brawling with KaSt at ringside. Ben came out and informed the fans(and OuTtKaSt) that Wesson had broken his wrist punching OuTtKaSt in the head and that he was stopping the match. KaSt, itching for a fight on his first official night back, challenged Ben to get in the ring and pick up where Wesson left off!

BBB got in the ring and the fight was on, with the two using garbage cans, thumbtacks, and even the ringside timekeeper's table! It seemed as though KaSt wouldn't stay down, but finally a powerbomb onto a metal trash can kept him down for the three-count as Ben won the impromptu matchup!

Nightmare Nick Tyson & Michael Serious vs. D.N.S.(w/ Sadie Blaze): Blaze insulted the fans, Big Bad Ben, and the opposition prior to the matchup, but Tyson and Serious quickly shut the mouths of the self-proclaimed "owners of the tag team division". D.N.S. were able to isolate Michael Serious for several minutes, but Nick Tyson tagged in and laid out both Jimmy Charisma and Melvin Talent. Just when it seemed as though Tyson and Serious were on their way to victory, the numbers game came into play once again. Tyson had Jimmy Charisma pinned after a German suplex/flying lariat combo, but Sadie had the referee distracted. Big Bad Ben came out and carried Blaze back to the dressing room, but the members of D.N.S. connected with stereo low blows on Tyson and Serious. Charisma and Talent then scored stereo rollup pins on Serious and Tyson, both pulling the tights for illegal leverage!

Dingo was scheduled to defend his newly-won Light Heavyweight Title against Payday Patterson, but shortly after the match got underway, Jynx entered the scene and got in Dingo's face. Jynx apparently was upset about not getting the first shot at the title, so the match turned into an impromptu three-way dance! It was an eventful encounter, including a three-way criss-cross sequence on the ropes that ended with Payday doing a Flair Flip and running the ring apron to climb the tunbuckles, jumping off onto absolutely nothing. Payday proved, though, that he could dish out the punishment as well as he could take it, launching a huge moonsault off the turnbuckles onto both opponents on the arena floor! Back in the ring, Jynx trapped Payday in the dragon clutch and it seemed like nothing Dingo could do would force him to release the hold. Jynx gave Dingo an obscene gesture, so Dingo retaliated by hitting a moonsault off the turnbuckles onto both opponents! Dingo pinned both opponents, successfully defending his championship.

Finally, Kory Twist defended the GCW Heavyweight Title against the tough challenge of Michael Strider. Strider brought his traditional heavy-hitting assault, but Twist displayed the resilience that made him champion in the first place. Twist reached the ropes to break up the pin after a Strider Spiral, but was unable to capitalize upon hitting the Fate Factor(with Strider kicking out of the ensuing pin attempt). Each man fought for the move that could put the other away, and after a hard-fought battle, Twist dropped Strider to the mat with a second Fate Factor to take home the victory!

Quick 'n' dirty results from Cape Girardeau:

Jackal d. Gary J with the knee-to-the-back-of-the-head Rocker Dropper variation that I don't have a name for yet. Gary J took some severe punishment, including a DDT onto the ring apron and a rana outside the ring that sent him flying upside-down into the guardrail.

Cabal d. Staunton(w/ Sindy) via Wookie Claw.

Nightmare Nick Tyson d. European Legend Pierre with a Buff Blockbuster off the top rope.

OuTtKaSt d. Spoiled Steven Kennedy after dropkicking him in mid-springboard move.

Trent Stone & Rebecca Raze d. D.N.S.(w/ Sadie Blaze) when Raze pinned Melvin Talent after a springboard DDT. Raze was scheduled to team with Dingo, who was late arriving at the show due to car problems.

Michael Serious d. Sean Vincent in the U.S. vs. Canada flag match. The rules were that to win, you had to pin your opponent and then take your country's flag down from one of the corner poles. Several falls took place over the course of the match, but Serious appeared to be on the way to winning after a Serious Slam off the top rope and pin. European Legend Pierre interfered and knocked Serious down from the turnbuckles with a chair, then tried to encourage Vincent to get the Canadian flag. Vincent, however, didn't want to win that way and Pierre slapped him, leaving to Vincent delivering a Manitoba Death Driver on Pierre onto the chair! Vincent then watched as Serious recovered and climbed the turnbuckles to retrieve the American flag. Vincent congratulated Serious post-match and the two shook hands.

Jynx d. "New Deal" Dan Walsh; Jynx appeared to be seriously injured after a shoulderbreaker by Walsh, but as Walsh called for medical attention for his one-time friend, Jynx rolled him in a small package for the win. Walsh vowed to get payback at the Mt. Vernon show next week as the two will meet again.

Cameron Cage wanted to declare himself the winner of the chain match by forfeit(as Kevin X was unable to make it to the show), but Dingo came out to take up the challenge instead. After a violent battle, Cage got the duke after delivering a DDT while Dingo's feet were hung up on the top rope. Post-match Dingo got some revenge by choking out Cage with the chain and delivering a chain-assisted neckbreaker.

Kory Twist d. Shorty Biggs after the Leap Of Faith(splash off the top) to retain the Heavyweight Title after a hard-fought matchup.

GCW will return to Cape Girardeau's Armory in August(exact date to be posted soon) and will return to the A.C. Brase Arena on September 24th for Wrestlefest...a show that will feature the GCW return of "The New F'n Show" Jerry Lynn!

Well GCW is glad to announce the opening of their new TRAINING CENTER, that's right the Wrestling Promotion that turn out the like of Delirious, MsChif, and Matt Sydal ( I don't know the spelling here, he was just Matt when he work for GCW) along with their trainer Dingo and the rest of the GCW staff Kory Twist- Outtkast- Kevin X- Jynx- Sean Vincent- Rebecca Raze - Cameron Cage - Richard Head - Jackal - Gary J - Cabal - Chaz Wesson - Ratboy - The Castaldi Family - Euro Scumbag - STAUNTON -Trent Stone - Shorty Biggs - Steve Kennedy - Michael Serious - Reid Region - Nick Tyson - Dan Walsh - and former GCW trainer Keith Smith has sign on to help the next generation of GCW workers and many of the current GCW trainees. With a list of over 27 new trainees coming abord could the next DELIRIOUS or MATT be hiding out just waiting for a chance. Also the center will be open for those that don't know Jeremy Lightfoot's wife favorite color or those that couldn't see what jumping off the top rope had to do with wrestling. ( Inside joke--- Laugh it's funny) Side note there will be two rings up and running at the training cenrter.

So if you've been watching Monday night Raw and always wanted to test your skills here is your chance, to be the best you can be, you have to train with the best and that has been GCW for the last FIVE years and running, along with that GCW has produce the best Local male and female wrestlers in the area while being the #1 promotion in the MIDWEST.

Back to the WRESTLE FEST WEEKEND, we're also in talks with Al Snow and Rhino, we at GCW are trying to make this the best WRESTLE FEST ever, hope you'll be there.

Just to let every one know the GCW owner (that would be me) drop a lot on a new computer to once again make our video... no our new line of DVD's better. It is also to help us do our own TV show. I know we've been running reruns for a while but unlike the others we wish to put out a better product ( that's not meant to be a shot in any way, I just feel I'd rather wait and get it right and not learn as I go. There has been enough bad wrestling and bad TV shows around St. Louis for to long time and GCW will not go that route) and up till now we couldn't do that. The Grand PooBah put out a very good technical show and we at GCW could never thank him enough for what he did but as a wrestler and a wrestling promoter I felt he lack the know how to get the wrestling points across and take GCW to the next level. In the past I had the pleasure to be around one of the best TV wrestling shows (ECW 95) and that's the type of show GCW wants to deliver. Hard hitting, great wrestling actions, show case your wrestler in front and behind the scenes, bring out the best in their character. A wrestling show should be about every one not just one person ( now that was a shot) bang bang!!! I know what your thinking big guy but it's not about you, it's about Triple H, and the rest of you should get your minds out the gutter to. Hey remember when Searcher discover America..... now that was a joke. Come on Searcher a good rib is good for the soul, I mean if the boys can make fun of my Benisms or Benglish it's all in good fun.

Well it's getting late and my back medicine is kicking in so I'll wrap it up, just wanted to also say that the WWE lost is GCW gains, have been in contact with all the Dudley's and they can't till the 90 day no compete is up and a few others.

New training Center, New Tag Team Belts, and New Talent, The Strangle Hold Awards look well in hand.

Big Ben - Hope to see you at the shows.

P.S.

Oh, almost forgot

August 13th Cape Girardeau National Guard Armory

August 19th Overland Wild Acers Gym

August 20th St. Peters National Guard Armory

August 21st GCW will be entertaining a Biker rally more on that in the next week

August 27th Tentive Mt Vernon Show but has not been confirmed yet."

Results from Mt. Vernon(6/25) since I'm just now getting around to posting them. :P

-----

Gary J vs. European Legend Pierre: These two rivals went at it once again; the two have faced each other in both singles and tag team action and this was the rubber match as far as singles competition was concerned. The two were evenly matched, but Gary J pulled out the win by fighting out of a superplex, countering into a sunset flip/powerbomb off the turnbuckles.

Rebecca Raze vs. Super Castaldi: Raze controlled much of the matchup, but hit the mat hard when attempting a springboard move. It looked like Castaldi might catch a break for once in his life, but when he tried to capitalize on the opportunity, Raze caught him in a small package for the three-count, continuing Castaldi's seemingly endless losing streak.

Reid Reign vs. Spoiled Steven Kennedy: Both men are relatively new to GCW competition and were looking to prove themselves once again in the Gateway ring. Kennedy seemed to have the edge for a while, but Reign fought back and nearly connected with his Reign Of Terror finisher. However, Kennedy backflipped out of the move and hit the Assassination(double-underhook sitout faceplant) for the hard-fought win.

Cabal vs. Staunton(w/ Sindy): This was a rematch from Cape Girardeau between two of GCW's heavy hitters. It looked like it would end the same way, as Cabal slammed Staunton off the top rope and grabbed him in the Wookie Claw. However, as Staunton flailed around in his attempts to escape the hold, he accidentally knocked the referee down. Sindy entered the ring to try to save her man, and as Cabal confronted her, Staunton delivered a huge low blow on the masked man. Staunton planted Cabal with a DDT and covered him as the recovering referee made the pin count.

Shorty Biggs(w/ Dr. Harvard Cornell III) vs. Prophet Stevens: Not long ago at an Overland show, Shorty was high-fiving fans at ringside, but was met with only an icy glare from the man we now know is called Prophet Stevens. Tonight, Stevens took his hostility out on Biggs in a more direct manner as he dished out a vicious assault on the "Don Mega". With the support of Cornell and the fans in attendance, Shorty was able to mount a comeback against his 300-plus-pound foe, but Cornell fell victim to Stevens' rage and was knocked off the ring apron. While the referee was checking on Cornell's condition, Biggs connected with a big flying clothesline off the turnbuckles and appeared to have Stevens pinned, but there was no one to make the three-count. In the midst of the chaos, Stevens brought his baseball bat into the ring and clocked Shorty with it! The ref returned his attention to the match just in time to see the pin cover, allowing Prophet Stevens to win his debut in questionable fashion.

Sean Vincent vs. Jackal: With Vincent seemingly seeing the light in recent weeks, it looked like this would be a good clean matchup. Jackal had control and executed the Killswitch #2, but the referee happened to be in the corner that Jackal was kicking off to execute the move and got kicked in the head, leaving no one to count the fall. European Legend Pierre ran in and delivered his across-the-back neckbreaker on Jackal, then encouraged Vincent to go for the win. Apparently Pierre hadn't gotten the message last week, so Vincent had to tell him again that he didn't want to win that way. Pierre slapped Vincent, so Vincent dropped him with the Manitoba Death Driver! The match continued with Jackal having been given the opportunity to recover, but to his credit Vincent picked up the victory...on his own terms...after hitting the Sexy Elbow off the top rope. Post-match, the two shook hands in a show of respect. From the sound of things, Vincent has indeed turned over a new leaf!

OuTtKaSt vs. Melvin Talent(w/ Jimmy Charisma & Sadie Blaze): Before the match, the members of D.N.S. declared that they were tired of hearing the talk that they could only win by cheating, and Melvin Talent said that he would prove himself tonight against KaSt...in what turned into an impromptu hardcore match. All kinds of weaponry was used, including a trash can lid, ladder, kendo stick, and steel chairs. However, as KaSt was on the verge of victory, Blaze hit him from behind with the kendo stick, then Melvin decked KaSt with the ever-present D.N.S. briefcase to secure the win...so much for proving they could win without cheating!

"New Deal" Dan Walsh vs. Jynx: After what happened in their match last week, Walsh was intent on getting some payback on his former friend. However, once again Jynx had no intentions on fighting a clean matchup, even coming out with his arm in a sling to act like he was once again "hurt". He even directed some of his aggression at the fans in attendance, slapping one of them(as he did last week)! Walsh responded by going on the attack, then holding Jynx for the fan to slap.

Walsh focused his attack on the aforementioned shoulder, but Jynx was able to turn the tide and hit Walsh with a Michinoku Driver. Jynx went to the top rope but missed a swanton bomb, then reacted as if the shoulder was badly injured once again. Walsh was skeptical after the stunt Jynx had pulled in Cape Girardeau, but the referee seemed convinced that it was legitimate this time, backing Walsh off. Walsh, remembering his past friendship with Jynx, went to check on him...only to be tied up in a modified victory roll out of nowhere! Jynx had once again played on the sympathy of his "friend" to score a sneaky victory...and Walsh wasn't happy about the outcome, chasing Jynx back to the dressing room area!

Kory Twist vs. Cameron Cage for the GCW Heavyweight Title: Twist started by working a headlock, constantly countering Cage's attempts to escape the move. When Cage tried to turn the tables, Twist fought out and hit a clothesline that sent both flying out of the ring. Kory pushed his advantage, but an errant clothesline hit the ringpost by mistake and Cage capitalized on the injury, working over the arm with a variety of armbars and a single-arm DDT. Twist tried to mount a comeback with a flying cross-bodyblock, but missed when trying another one and landed badly on the injured arm. Cage continued the assault with a belly-to-back suplex for a near-fall, but Twist countered a reverse neckbreaker attempt into a DDT. The champion rallied despite the pain in his arm, dropping Cage to the mat with a half-nelson slam and then connecting with the Leap Of Faith splash off the top rope! Twist gutted out the pain and scored the pinfall, retaining his title once again!

GCW will be taking the month of July off, but catch us again in August for more of the great action that has made Gateway Championship Wrestling the best in the Midwest!

Results from Cape Girardeau, as posted on www.gatewaywrestling.com:

Quick 'n' dirty...

With Adam Starr under the weather, the injured Shorty Biggs was the guest ring announcer for the evening.

Reid Reign d. Gary J with the Reign Of Terror(belly-to-back suplex into a uranagi).

Rebecca Raze d. European Legend Pierre by DQ when Jynx interfered; Sean Vincent made the save, setting up an unlikely tag team matchup for later in the evening.

Melvin Talent d. Cabal when Jimmy Charisma tripped up Cabal in mid-chokeslam, allowing Melvin to drive Cabal's head into the mat and get the pin. Post-match Melvin attacked Cabal with the infamous D.N.S. briefcase, which brought out Big Bad Ben. Ben set up a tag match for next month's WrestleFest show: Himself and Cabal against D.N.S.!

Staunton d. OuTtKaSt in a hardcore matchup after a low blow and inverted atomic drop.

Cameron Cage d. Nightmare Nick Tyson with a hanging DDT after focusing on Tyson's arm for most of the matchup.

Sean Vincent & Rebecca Raze d. Jynx & European Legend Pierre when miscommunication between Jynx and Pierre allowed Raze to get the rollup pin on Jynx. Post-match Jynx attacked his own tag team partner out of frustration over the loss.

The best-of-three-falls match between Dingo and Jackal seemed to start without the challenger present, but Jackal entered through the audience and surprised Dingo with a springboard cross-bodyblock for the quick first fall! The second fall spilled out of the ring and the chairs were flying as the match become an impromptu falls-count-anywhere affair. Dingo buried Jackal in chairs next to the guardrail and then connected with a rolling senton into the pile of chairs, scoring the second fall. Things got back into the ring with a lot of close calls for each man, but Dingo was able to avoid the Killswitch #2 and hit the Dingo Driver for the third fall to retain the Light Heavyweight Title!

Kory Twist retained the GCW Heavyweight Title against Adam Raw after hitting the Fate Factor. It was a battle of high-impact offense, but Twist was able to pick up the hard-fought victory.

Home video commentary was provided by Patrick The Intern and Cameron Cage for the first half of the show and by Patrick The Intern and D.N.S. for the second half of the show. GCW returns to Cape Girardeau on Saturday, September 24th with Jerry Lynn appearing, as well as Big Bad Ben & Cabal vs. D.N.S. The next show is on Friday, August 19th in Overland, MO(card posted on the front page of the website).
