AlaskanHero 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2005 I was thinking about this as I woke up and I don't think Cena would let one of his best friends in the business be jobbed out. Nor would Mick Foley. I think both would try and get Joe a nice sized push, maybe not to the main-event, but something that would get him comfortably over. I don't think they'd treat Joe like Rhyno seeing how Ring of Honor has nowhere near the cult love ECW had. Hell, outside of smarks, who knows what RoH is? Do ordinary marks go to RoH shows? I seriousluy want to know. I think CM Punk will be ok. Like someone said earlier, he didn't look out of place against Venis on Heat. Mick would probably want to do something with him. I don't know enough about Danielson to really comment on him outside of "maybe they'll try and have him do something with Paul London are/or Shawn Micheals due to being trained at the same school." SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2005 The only reason AJ didn't publically take the WWE offer was for two reasons. One, it was a development deal which means a year or so in OVW. Two, the money was only about $70k or less and he can make more in indy bookings where he goes for $500-1000 an appearance. I'd heard it was about $500 a week in OVW. AlaskanHero 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2005 True, but honestly Jesus didn't have much of a future after Carlito got injured. Him getting injured was just the final nail in the coffin. Besides, seeing how Cena was only U.S Champion, I can see how he wouldn't have all that much pull or the ability to save Jesus. And didn't they say that they would bring Jesus back when he got healthy?
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2005 They did, but then released him as soon as he was cleared to work. But at least they kept paying him while he was out, which is something.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2005 Punk may be a great talker... but unlike RoH...WWE writes your promos for you...and is pretty stingy with the mic time if your not...well you know.
Guest Fook_Theta Report post Posted May 29, 2005 I'd heard it was about $500 a week in OVW. Five hundred dollars a week compared to five hundred per booking. Which one would you honestly take?

Angelus 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2005 I go this off of a couple boards reported to be form the new Observer. "Just read the new Observer and apparently Laurinatis has been told to hurry up and sign CM Punk, Samoa Joe, and Bryan Danielson. This is in the wake of Meltzer last week reporting that TNA was wanting to sign all three." Can anybody confirm this? If it's true did Meltzer say if they were more like to choose WWE or TNA? It says that with the TNA deal with WGN, Vince who by nature is very aggressive when it comes to competition that isn't on his level will make somes raids in the TNA roster and make offers to anyone who even shows a hint of getting over. For CM Punk, Danielson & Samoa Joe since the management of TNA is after them, there was a internal memo in the WWE to John Laurinatis telling him he needed to get on the ball and sign them. There is a huge disparity in WWE & TNA pay, and ultimatly wrestlers will choose whoever offers them the most money.
AlaskanHero 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2005 How should these fellows debut, if they were to, of course? CM Punk: Maybe as a new member of Evolution. Or brought in by Mick Foley. If not that, he should win the Kurt Angle Invitational. Samoa Joe: Win the Masterlock Challenge or Hassan and Daivari's bodyguard. Bryan Danielson: Win the Kurt Angle Invitational. They'll be in OVW dumbing down their matches for four months to a year.
