Video Game Vixens on G4

Recommended Posts

OK...just a harmless piece of fluff from G4

It's basically a beauty contest for video game women. Hosted by Hal Sparks

First catagory, voted by a game magazine person, Joy Giavonni from WWE, and someone from MTV (Jake Ronsteen or something) were the judges.

First catagory was "Dressed To Kill". Entrants were:

Lei Fang (DOA Series)

Kailina (New Prince of Persia games)

Nina Williams (Death By Degrees)

Kasumi (DOA Series)

Anasthesia (Rumble Roses

WINNER: Kasumi

Second was "Best Booty", voted on by fans. Entrants were:

Christie (DOA series)

Shahde (Prince of Persia: Sands of Time)

Ivy (Soul Calibur 2)

Donna (Outlaw Golf 2 and Outlaw Volleyball)

Lara Croft

WINNER: Lara Croft

Last catagory was "Sexiest Finish", voted by judges Entrants were:

Rayne (BloodRayne 2)

Nina (Death By Degrees)

Kurenai (Red Ninja: End of Honor)

Jade (Mortal Kombat: Deception)

Summer (Outlaw Golf 2)

WINNER: Summer

The three winners from these catagories will go to the "finals", to determine Vixen of 2005. They also did a top five for Worst Dressed:

5)Dixie (Rumble Roses...cow print outfit)

4)Lizzie (Outlaw Volleyball)

3)Evil Rose (Rumble Roses)

2)Christie (DOA 3)

1)Ivy (Soul Calibur, "Presidential" Outfit)

It's continuing next week. Voting is online for "Kinkiest Accessory". But if for some reason you're curious, they're showing it over and over again on G4.

One of these things is not like the other...

Considering it's G4, I'm shocked anybody in the biz at all was on. Who was the magazine guy? Some hack from Game Informer/Gamepro?

WINNER: Lara Croft

I thought AoD killed all her remaining popularity. *shrug*

Oh, that makes perfect sense.

Seanbaby isn't a "magazine person," exactly. He's got a pop-culture site that's main deal is commentaries on the Hostess/superhero mini-comics, and reviews ripping apart bad old video games. EGM snagged him for his list of Worst Video Games Ever (topped by ET). He's since done some features for 1up. He's a funny guy, though.

Sounds about right for G4, after all.

"Journalist?" *snicker*

There's still worse looking female characters in video games than butler Christie. I kind of enjoy the suit when beating someone down because it has that "this is just business, pardon me while i pwn you before going back to work" appeal to it.

I can't believe I'm disputing a HOT GAME CHIX show.

Why? No Square characters even made it. A few Namcos though.

I'd think you'd be more insulted if anything. Unless you wanted to see just how bad it was.

Sarcasm.

I think I'm more annoyed than insulted.

And what is with Lara Croft? It seems like the mainstream media likes her more than actual gamers do. I haven't seen anyone talk about her positively in like 5 years but if you go by the media she's like this big gaming superstar. Some show on Bravo just listed her as one of the top 5 greatest female heroes in all media. Lara shouldn't be in the top 5 for just video games.

She was insanely popular in the UK, more so than even here.

I guess she's considered bigger and separate from the Tomb Raider games, so even when they're the drizlits like AoD, the character still has potential to make $ (of course, 2nd Tomb Raider movie still bombed, but that coincided with the huge backlash of AoD).

Oh, and I wouldn't rule out Crystal Dynamics sprinkling a few bucks G4's way to plug her name again, since they're going to try to revive the franchise.

Legend honestly looks like it could be quite interesting, although it seems to have taken a more action-heavy focus, kind of like the last PoP game. And she looks less hideous and closer to an actual human female than ever before.

I don't know a lot of the characters on that list. I'll take that as a good thing.

Where's Flik these days?

He "left" TSM.

OK, week two of this. Same judges as last week (maybe that's why Joy hasn't been around)

Anyway, catagories and winners:

DIRTIEST DANCER (Judges Vote)

Yuna (Final Fantasy X-2)

Tina (DOA series)

Becky (Rumble Roses)

Ulala (Space Channel 5)

Aisha (Rumble Roses)

WINNER: Tina

KINKIEST ACCESSORY (Fan's Vote)

Lucia (Devil May Cry...2, I think)

Mistress Spencer (Rumble Roses)

Ivy (Soul Calibur 2)

Kurenai (Red Ninja: End of Honor)

Mistress Suki (Outlaw Golf 2)

WINNER: Ivy

MOST DANGEROUS CURVES (Judges)

Dixie (Rumble Roses)

Kasumi (DOA 3)

Rayne (BloodRayne 2)

Christie Montenegro (Tekken 4 and 5)

Rachel (Ninja Gaiden)

WINNER: Rayne

So, for their "Finals", it's so far Kasumi, Lara, Summer, Tina, Ivy, and Rayne.

Oh, forgot to mention, they had jokingly "Past Winners" shown between things. They were:

1980: Ms. Pac-Man (Most Dangerous Curves)

1987: Zelda (Baddest Good Girl)

1985: Princess Peach (Dressed to Kill)

1986: Carmen Sandiego (Best Booty)

*Also guilty*.

It's not just that she's hot, it's her whole kick-ass attitude. The movie will suck and be ignored as it will NEVER compare to the feeling of slicing and dicing a guy to juicy bits then hearing Rayne quip 'Oh, don't worry. They do amazing things with prostethics these days'.

Also, as this is semi on-topic, which of her goth outfits is hotter? Her default (right) or the extra 'Dark Rayne' costume:

Oh, and Rayne not winning 'Sexiest Finish'? Pfft. Fuck off, I say.

Well it's late, but if anyone cares, the finals were last night. Caught the reshowing to see who won. Here we go.

First they did was "Swimsuits". They had to improvise with some, so they just showed the skimpiest outfits of some characters and put bubble effects in front of them. Top Five here moved on. Ada Wong, Lara Croft, Kasumi, and Summer were all eliminated in this round. Leaving Tina, Ivy, Rayne, Riku and Reiko to move on.

Then they had "Talent Competition":

Tina (Cliff Diving)

Ivy (Bird Calling)

Rayne (Splatter Artist)

Rikku (Monkey Trainer)

Reiko (Massage Therapist)

They just showed clips of stuff from their games for these things. Top 3 move on here. Ivy and Rikku were knocked out. The "Finals" were Tina, Rayne and Reiko.

The Viewer's Choice Vixen of 2005 was Rikku.

Last was "Inverview". Rayne was about a "Health Care" thing, I missed it. They mentioned something about her mom. Tina was "Asked" about World Peace, and Tina said noone danced better than her.

Before they announced the winner, they showed clips of women in games from E3, and said they may be eligable for "Next Year's Competition"

Anyway, the winner was Tina.
