Ok who else went to the Warped Tour?

Recommended Posts

So for the 3rd year in a row I made a trip to Dallas and went to the Warped Tour. It was better than last year where I saw The Casualties, Flogging Molly and Bad Religion but it rained the whole day but not better than the first year where I saw the Suicide Machines, Less than Jake, Dropkick Murphys, AFI, and Rancid.

I go to the show in Dallas every year and it was hot as fuck and 4 bucks for water and 8 for beer.

The main bands I saw were Tsunami Bomb, The Unseen, Dropkick Murphys(my fav), and The Transplants. I left though before The Offspring went on. This year the show was really dominated by My Chemical Romance(never ever heard them. what kind of music do they play?) and everyone seemed to be there to see them. However DKM gets better everytime I see them and they were dragging guys out of the audience to sing Barroom Hero. Overall it was a great show and I recommend it.

Unfortunately b/c it's this huge festival it's full of dickheads that want to start trouble and fights in the mosh pit. When I go to shows at my local venue there's never fights. But this year there were all kinds of dickheads starting trouble.

I met Tsunami Bomb too but didn't get to meet DKM even though that'd be the 4th time I met them.

I got an awesome DKM shirt that on the front has a skull with a knife in it's mouth and a Red Sox hat on with 2 bats crossed behind it like swords and on the back it's go a pic of Varitek jacking A-Rod in the face and it says "No Glove, No Love"

I figured as much. No wonder all the teeny bopper girls were there.

Hey Youth n Asia do you ever have a problem with those dickheads that don't really listen to the music but just go b/c there is a concert and then they get into the mosh pit and start fights?

For a $40 ticket I'd like to think people would show up for the music. There were a few overly aggressive people in Rancid's pit last year, but otherwise no problems.

If you wanted a search I did write ups for the last two Warped Tours

I agree with Damaramu...it seems like the bigger the show, the more retards get involved in the pit. I was at a Sevendust show last year and some idiot tried picking a fight with me in the mosh....so I gave a big hiptoss and yelled at him to not pick fights while he was trying to get off the floor and scurry away, that was neat.

Im thinkin about goin to the Warped tour stop in Minneapolis, but the lineup is kinda lacking. Pollstar doesnt list Motion City Soundtrack (which is weird as theyre a hometown band) or Tsunami Bomb (who I saw at my local club and thought were hugely awesome).

Well, nevermind...I guess that MCS is playing Minneapolis, but no Tsunami Bomb.

I'll be attending July 14th and it should be a good overall day of music as usual. I remember last year when I watched My Chemical Romance play on a side stage to a crowd of about 20 people. They've come a long way in a year.

No offense to you, but I don't remember you being that fat. I also guess you ditched the idea of trying out for the sooners?

I did try out I just didn't make it. I did play Rugby for OU though.

And honestly this is the smallest I've been in years. Those other pictures just hid it well.

Just wondering but why the hell would you leave before Offspring? God, they're the only band there that I'd actually pay money to see. In fact I did just 2 weeks ago when they did a show here in Louisville as part of this Mt. Dew BMX/Skater fest thing. Some bums called Acceptance opened and they sucked ass, bunch of this goth emo whiny shit that is on the radio nowdays. Their set showed one thing: Louisville is NOT a town for whiny emo crap. We like people who can rock it out.

Taking a look at that Warped lineup and it seems like "Offspring and a bunch of whiny emo fuckheads." I hate this tuneless emo crap, I really do. It's like a bunch of guys doing soft singing and then yelling and screaming out of nowhere, despite the song not really being hard enough to call for it.

I hear you on the Emo stuff. The punk rock bands(i still use the word punk rock loosely since i've become jaded to that whole scene) kept bitching on stage about the Emo bands.

Billy Idol on a show with Offspring and a bunch of emo goth jobbers. I have to admit it sounds curious. I can see why the punk bands would trash the emo bands...who thought combining those two scenes was a good concept? Punk is supposed to be fast, catchy, and angry...emo is mid tempo, whiny, and not really hook driven.

Just got back from the Calgary stop and it was a solid day all around, but the most entertaining set by far was put on by Reggie & the Full Effect. The music was good, but the crowd interaction made it. I recommend that anyone who has a chance to see them should do it.
