Elbarto997 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2005 TNA is quickly nearing the end of the road in terms of heel Tag Teams. Here's basically all of the heel tag teams that TNA had since the beginning of the year. Team Canada-- The primary heel tag team today, and an effective one at that. Notable that these guys are the only surviving team of the 2004 X Cup tournament. The Naturals--Turned face. XXX-- Broken up due to XXX/AMW Cage II stipulations. Lance Hoyt & Kid Kash-- Broken up due to Kash getting the pink slip. The N.Y.C-- Buried, then released. The Elite Guard-- Obsolete. The Kings of Wrestling-- Scott Hall facing personal demons, Kevin Nash turned face. Michael Shane & Kazarian-- Broken up due to Kazarian getting the pink slip. Phi Delta Slam-- Sitting on their asses at home. That may not have been every heel tag team, but you get the picture. Who do you suppose could be signed or put together to solve the problem? Astro101 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2005 Kazarian asked for a release, I think, didn't get fired. I really loved Simon and Swinger. At least they still have Simon, but I dunno how well he can do with Trytan as his partner now. I think AMW need to go heel...mix things up a bit at least. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2005 I think AMW will become heels sooner or later. I've been waiting for it for a year now. I actually think they'd make a good heel team since they've been the face focal point of the division for nearly the entire 3 years of the company.
zyn081 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2005 IMHO AMW will turn very soon and the NAO will start off as heels, despite being cheered. Id like to see Sean Waltman and Abyss together as a tag team, a la Kane and X-Pac.
Guest SoZe Report post Posted June 30, 2005 I love how you refer to Kazarian getting a WWE contract as getting "the pink slip." That's like saying a player being called up from a single A ballteam in the minors, to play for the Yankees is getting a demoted.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2005 It appears they're setting up Shane/Shelley as Shane/Kazarian 2.0, which should be good, as I like both. Diamond appears to be with Trytan, which is good since Trytan can be relegated to power spots/bailing out his partner type of work, and Diamond can carry the workload. The NAO reunion is going to turn Killings and Konnan heel, IMO.
Magus 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2005 The Naturals, the New Age Outlaws, AMW, and Team Canada. To my mind, that looks like one face team, two heel teams, and one tweener team. That's only what TNA has going right now, but with the new bookers, I expect the tag situation to get stronger and stay that way. The problem they had before was hooking up teams and just throwing them away or not using them. I think it'll be a bit more stable now, and these four teams will be the centerpieces of the division. There's a few other possible teams, of course, but I'd really like to see Collyer and Onyx brought back to compete. I've heard lots of good things about them. TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2005 The NAO reunion is going to turn Killings and Konnan heel, IMO. I think Killings and Konnan are going to end up as heels as well, because it seems like the crowd really wants this NAO reunion.
Magus 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 Eh, I'm not too high on 3LK staying together much longer. After the NAO reform (which they MUST), I don't think its in Killings' best interest to stick with Konnan as a tag team. Truth needs to get back into singles wrestling, maybe even returning to the World Title picture. IMO he's best utilized there. Konnan could be better used in a team with Shark-Boy or Waltman. Konnan/Sharky could be an excellent comedy duo, while Konnan/Waltman would be a decent face team.
Elbarto997 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 Eh, I'm not too high on 3LK staying together much longer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. I've already mentioned in my Slammiversary Thoughtzz that they should just do the payoff with BG James/Outlaw, and then let them retire. This is a feud based solely on their past WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. And neither of them have been legit draws since MID-1999. Ron Killings hasn't done anything meaningful since his feud with JJJ last year, and Rey Mysterio isn't bailing on Vince in the near future, so Konnan useless. Let's face it, these guys are done. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 I doubt they're done, seeing as how they've been the most over faces in the company for over 2 years now.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 Behind AJ Styles...Raven (who got cheered to high heaven even when he was a heel)...Sabin...AMW...yeah. I'd say put Killings back in the main event picture. The guy can work his ass off when he's not relegated to making other people look better, and has charisma up the arse (and thankfully that's the only thing up his arse, since Bradshaw ain't around). Truth vs. Styles. Truth vs. Raven in a hardcore brawl. Truth vs. anybody, really. I'd dig it.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 3LK were more popular than Sabin, and I'd even say more popular than AMW, whom the crowd started getting tired of until the fake-breakup and rejuvenation of the team. Look at the merchandise moved and the signs in the crowd...people love 3LK.

Magus 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 As over as 3LK has been in the past, BG James is going to defect so that he can reform an even MORE over team. Instead of dragging 3LK out, just end it gracefully and let Killings and Konnan do other things. Just about everyone seems to want Truth back in singles competition anyway. 3LK has held him back from fully doing that, so set the man free. There's lots of stuff for Konnan to do. Teaming with Garza wouldn't be bad. Besides what I said earlier about possibly teaming him up with Waltman or Shark-Boy, I think Konnan could form an entertaining trio with Sonny Siaki and Apolo. All three guys would benefit from that, I think.

Shark-Boy is on the verge of getting a X Div push of thoughts. Id rather see Siaki on his own, but a 3 man team of them and Apolo is interesting since you have Samoan, Porto Rican and Mexican if I see it properly. Reason I said Hector is because IMHO he was the best guy in Team Mexico, after Juvi left, and was starting to get a push before the drug bust. Maybe they could ease him back in slowly with the K-Dawg.
