The one and only judgment day thread

Jericho was over when he fought the Rock, but that was over 3 months ago, I am talking about now.

Ahh, he did win some matches, especially the Undisputed title, and he still wasn't over.

If he beat HHH, he would get heat for it? Taker beat Hogan, the most popular wrestler right now, and he didn't get much heat. But if Jericho won, he would of gotten the heat? Right...

Yes, he has been playing HHH's personal bitch. I am not saying I like that, I am saying that he isn't over so he shouldn't win. But it is just my opinion.

Maybe it's because they booked him to either A) barely pull off a win in the match by cheating his ass off or B) job cleanly to his opponent, even with interference on his side.

Oh wait, could it also be that the build up for Wrestlemania involved fucking dog shit more than Jericho?

If Jericho beat him last night, in what's supposed to be HHH's match since he retired Mick in it, it would give his some credibility. It would have made him a bigger threat. HHH had NO REASON to win that match, and ONCE AGAIN make Jericho look like a steaming pile of shit. From the reports, it sounded like Trips dominated the match most of the time as well. What did that win do for HHH? Tell me, because I'm really interested in knowing what it did for him. NOTHING was on the line, no title, no contender spot, just some fucking respect. Some credibility. But can the man who needs that win? No, of course not.

If Jericho won the match, it would have been a stepping stone in rebuilding his recently tarnished career. I thought they were going in the right direction, putting him in a high profile match. I thought that maybe, just maybe, they would make a tad bit of sense and have Jericho go over HHH. Oh but wait, WWe can't make sense can they? A guy that beats both Austin and the Rock, the two biggest stars in the company, in one night can't possibly beat the immortal HHH, or at least look decent by kicking out of a pedigree or something.

And it takes some winning of important matches to get the stars over. Most don't just waltz in, or turn heel and automatically be over, unless your name is RVD. That's what those big matches against the big stars are for. Not like Jericho was the former Undisputed Champ or anything... Trips wouldn't have lost anything from losing, but Jericho would. And he did. He now looks like he can't beat HHH to save his life. Thanks bookers and writing team (Steph... HHH) Really appreciate it.

Oh, and Taker is a whole different story. The fans still pop for him. Finally he got a new entrance after a fucking year of being a heel, so maybe that will change.

I like to bump old PPV threads now and then so we can see what people were saying/thinking at the time. To me, this PPV had a few decent matches but really illustrated how downhill the company was doing, and how wrong the current direction was. The whole championship picture in 2002 was so messed up and directionless.

If I want to read what people thought back then, I'll fucking search for it in the archives myself.
