Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Recommended Posts

I'm actually anticipating this one. I didn't like the last one. I did, however, like HCtP. Hopefully the voiceovers and single player won't ruin this one like it did the last. I'll be playing it with friends anyway.

Since when does Masters wear blue/purple tights?

Once again, more lazy programming from Yukes with the color scheme fuck-ups on wrestler attires.

THIS is why edit-a-wrestler needs to be included in the Smackdown series BADLY at this point.

For those who care enough about the accuracy of the attire. I wouldn;t care if they wrestled "naked", as long as the game is fun to play.

The storylines of the single player season definitely has to improve, thats for sure. I am still finding branches of storylines in HCTP that SvR simply did not have, and HCTP is now three years old. And they need to add all of the championships, for sure. Give the players something to strive for, though they got the Trish Stratus storyline right in SvR, I have to admit. That gave a sense of accomplishment, considering the matches and things you have to go through to win her.

LOD with yellow, spiked shoulder pads on a Smackdown game wouldn't make you too happy, though, would it?

I agree. I got bored of the Season mode in SVR in 2 or 3 weeks because of the Diva-oriented nature of the Season mode, the limited amount of storylines, the lack of being able to switch wrestlers to other rosters like on HCTP (which probably won't be seen in SVR 2006, but hopefully if the reviews for the game sound good despite the flaws I've been noticing in the previews lately, that might make up for it), and only two championship belts on both shows.

As I said before, if the game is fun and I enjoy playing it, I would not care one bit.

Thats why I will probably rent SvR first this time. I'm not going to invest 50 bucks in a game that I will play for a very short time and then lose complete interest it in to an "inferior" version, like what happened with SvR 1.

I swear I've seen Masters in those tights before. In one of his early matches, no?

You might be right, though I can;t remember.

I was watching WM21 on DVD tonight and yeah, Masters was wearing similar tights back at that time. Similar in that they were not red (red tights being what I associated him with as well as his DoR2 model) but they were black and I imagine that prior to WM he may have had blue tights.

Not a huge deal or anything though, it just caught me a bit off guard. He also might be considered high enough on the card to warrant alternate attire... but again, it's not THAT big a deal to me.

Joy's toss into the air caught into a diamond cutter is pretty awesome... not sure why she has it though.

Well, Yukes did give Stacy Keibler an Edgeucator in her HCTP moveset.

I wonder if Yukes is going to put the Shooting Star Press into Torrie Wilson's SVR 2006 moveset for no reason at all?

Good question. It seems like we should've been thrown a couple of bones by now. I'm assuming it'll be Austin, Rock, Hogan, Warrior, Hart, Foley & Andre. Hopefully we'll get some new legend additions like Hacksaw or Dusty or something. I thought the legends in HCtP were really well done. DiBiase, Iron Shiek, Snuka & LOD were all fun to play with.

Agreed. Considering how long he's been champ, he should at least be 90. Big Show is too low at 82. He should be at least 85-88.

Creating a CAW is going to be frustrating. No wonder a lot of people were complaining about how hard DoR2 is. Definite rental time, to be sure.

Do the same trick that everyone else uses, take Taker or HHH through the season mode, and take rack up points. Buy extra points and turn around with a CAW from 40 to 88 in the span of 1 weekend.

In regards to the ratings of everyone, how is Daivari an 80, yet Chavo & Haas, among others, are lower? Daivari was portrayed as nothing but a defenseless manager on TV, with the exception of getting a fluke win over HBK. I saw it says 'subject to change' but still.

Those stats are fucked up. Show at 82? Batista lower than Guerrero? Angle 5 points higher than HBK? Good to see Rey higher than JBL though.

Yeah but this is the WWE. His size, push and title equal a lot more than 88 points. I mean hell the guy ran through Triple H and he's 7 points lower?

I'm happy to see Eddie with some legit stats for the first time, but Batista, especially if you're in the middle of "making him a star" should have one of the highest ratings in the game.
