Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 7, 2005 I remember reading last year during one of the hurricanes, Fidel wanted to move everyone into underground tunnels "for their own safety"... Fucker. Miami must have a forcefield around it or something. We managed to get through the blitz last year pretty much unscathed, just with some mild flooding, but it floods when it rains anyhow. It seems like it's basically the same thing this year, with every hurricane headed for the Gulf Coast (sorry Max, Supes, and Milky).
the max 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2005 We'd better not see a lot of wind and rain. I'm a satellite tech and this storm could cause me to have to work for like six weeks straight again.
Shooting Star 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2005 Hurricanes must not like it here...in the past 40 years we've only had one but P.R has had over 15 or something.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 7, 2005 Must have something to do with Dominicans, then. P.R., Cuba, Key West, and the Florida Gulf Coast have been hammered while D.R. and Miami remain scot-free. Santeria, bitches.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2005 I cant be the only one thinking about that stupid mockumentry (I guess thats what it was) Oil Storm, which set off a whole chain of events leading to an oil crisis by having a hurricane destroy some off shore oil righs in the Gulf of Mexico? Oh..and If I fucking hear "Hurricane Dennis" and "Menace" in the same sentence again, I will smash whatever I hear it on with a hammer. It was funny the first time...not so much the 1,021,211th time though.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 8, 2005 Dennis my ass. What kind of name is that for a natural disaster. It should be Hurricane Deathbringer.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2005 I fully endorse overbearing coverage of hurricanes on the news these days. It actually serves a function, showing us all that nature can wipe us out on a whim.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2005 One time while a copyeditor for AccuWeather, I caught a mistake on this one map regarding a typhoon. For a few days prior I noticed a particular typhoon heading toward a part of northern Japan, then one day it was on the other side of the island approaching southern Japan. I went up to the weatherman (oops, METEOROLOGIST) who wrote the map and asked him if this was correct, and he was all like "oops." That's all I got...
