Compare that to a movie like I, Robot that resembled the book in name only.

This is a really bad comparison as I, Robot was not actually a story itself, rather a collection of short stories with a "tie-in" of a robo-psychologist named Susan Calvin (I think that was the name) being interviewed by a reporter whom I think was writing an article about her life.
